You see driver after driver getting churned out at RBR, see one of the greats working his arse off to stay close, and want to sign up for that?

Nah, leave me at Merc to figure out a car I can at least drive.

Interesting given he just took delivery of his new company car.

To be fair, he probably ordered that car 5 years ago now.

Kindof surprised he got one. Figured they were all spoken for years before he was a Merc driver.

He has been and he was likeable in DTS and in the interviews I have seen so far this season.

Only Ocon, Lawson and the Window Licker to dislike now.

Yuki tested the dominant RB19 (2023) today at Silverstone. It will be nice if this, along with the additional upgrades coming in Miami and Imola, results in Yuki being a regular member of the top 8 cars. To satisfy the team however, he'll need to become a regular top 5 or 6 finisher, and at the moment it doesn't seem particularly likely.

Yuki said that it's only when you do a true 10/10th lap (just the final lap in Q1, Q2, and Q3, not the banker lap), do you experience the quirks of the car that can sap your confidence, so it's a slow process of gaining the knowledge of how to get the absolute maximum out of the car. This is why he's pretty close to Max in practice, only for the gap to get really big in qualy.

Perfect timing as I don't believe anyone has yet shared Rocketpoweredmohawk's recent take on this exact thing

Another good one. That multi car pile up at Spa is one of the wildest wrecks I have seen. Don’t know how I missed that when it happened.

F1 Academy is a pay series. Each driver had to pay 100,000 euros to compete last season, down from 150,000 in 23. Drivers don’t get salaries unless it’s from private sponsors. They race 174-horsepower turbocharged 4 cylinders. Last years winner was given a fully funded seat in GB3 which is considered F4. The GB3 season starts this weekend at Silverstone, there are two women competing, I’m morbidly curious how they perform.

They are pay drivers competing against lesser talent. It's the same issue the W series had.

I'm fine with promoting women drivers as a means to grow the sport. Just having a pink car does that.

Bad racing is bad racing though. There is a reason women serious about their racing careers are hesitant to participate.
