Is that Tony Rice? He was a great leader and a baller.

Not sure exactly which issue it was but it was in the late 60’s. It might have been after the jets beat the colts…

Kathy Ireland was my Mona Lisa growing up.

I swear she was on every cover (even though she wasn't) but that's my memory. By FAR my favorite swimsuit model ever.

Prolly, 1983. I would say, Sugar Ray Leonard or Herschel Walker on the cover.

Don't remember which one was my 1st, but this one was one of my favorites from my high school years.

Loved how Joe Washington painted his cleats silver.

April 29, 1985. Hulk Hogan graced the cover and I was a big wrestling fan.

I distinctly remember coming home from school as a 10 year old, and my grandma was over at the house, bringing me the issue. She had given me a subscription and they were being delivered to her house across town. She used it as an "excuse" to come see me on Friday afternoons. After she died 10 years later, it hit me really hard when I had to change the delivery address to my apartment at LSU. I kept the subscription thru 2015 or so, even though I rarely read it. When I finally cancelled it, I felt like I was leaving a part of me behind.

At one time, it was the best part of Friday afternoons for me.
