Anyone ever Cracked A Glass basketball backboard?

Honestly didn't know i could do this. I got a goal from academy 4 years ago in 6th grade. It is a glass backboard not sure how big, so I lowered to 9 feet to do some trick dunks. I dunked it as hard as I could and it just cracked the whole thing, now glass is shattering everywhere. So has this happened to anyone? And does Anyone know how to replace these things?

I have not...but my shite for brains 14 year old neighbor chucked the ball half courts and shattered my backboard. Made a deal with his parents they help me install the new one, I would purchase (it was under warrantee , so no out of pocket expense).

What brand is the backboard?
Figure that out and google it. Contact them (what I did)...they sent it to me within a week.
Oh, it is a bitch to put on...it is a 2 man job for sure!

You know that the ones from Academy aren't necessarily as strong as the ones they use in college and the NBA, right? You could have easily broken it if you were dunking as hard as you could on a basketball goal that's endured four years of weathering.

nope there is still glass up there,mom's getting pretty pissed spent an hour sweeping up all the glass that has fallen so far
