Anyone know the details in the Evangel/Calvary Baptist split?

I’ve heard all sorts of things, mostly involving Dunn and the Booty’s in one way or another. Anyone with personal experience wanna tell the story?

Johnny Booty was having home church services outside the First Assembly Church. Duron got mad. Fired him in front of the congregation. Booty was hired by Calvary and established their program.

If that’s really what happened, then good for Booty. I think Calvary may have killed Evangel judging by their recent records. The drop off is unbelievable.

Calvary went with the south Shreveport money and Evangel took west Shreveport vouchers. Win Calvary.

Their was a money issue/discrepancy with missing revenues when Booty (Calvary) was there. It was a mutual agreement he go elsewhere.

Your 3rd party source is pretty accurate. I thought the world of Rodney Duron and Francis. The church lacked when it came to managing money and where it was allocated. Denny is a good man. Money is not his thing.

Several years ago I saw Brock Berlin, Hester, Booty, and Chase Pittman walking the Calvary sideline vs eca. Don't think they care that much for Evangel.

Done. They had 2 completions against WM this year. 2 for the entire game, both to running backs. ZERO. CATCHES. BY. A. RECEIVER. From a program that owned WM for 7 years or so to not completing a single pass.
