Awesome story of Dominique Moceanu's sister, adopted by U.S. parents.

Sorry if this has been posted, but thought I'd share. I watched Real Sports this morning (usually don't, but gave it a go) and a story of a leg-less girl from Illinois (Jennifer Bricker) came on. She was drawn to gymnastics and tumbling due to inspiration from watching Dominique Moceanu, so instead of letting her no legs hold her back, she started tumbling and became a state champion in Illinois against girls with legs.
Long story short, her adoptive parents realized their daughter's biological parents were Dominique Moceanu's and that they were sisters. They chose to allow her to get older to let her know the news. Before that time, it was brought to light Dominique Moceanu's father was abusive and just a terrible person overall. He made the mother give up Jennifer due to her not having legs. Without the adoptive parents, Jennifer might not have had a shot at life. Dominique Moceanu and Jennifer Bricker are now close and are making up for lost time.
I just think it's an awesome story and it's strange how drawn Jennifer was to Dominique Moceanu by only seeing her on TV. It also shows the power of adoption and the positive impact it can have on someone's life.

Dominique moceanu was a us gymnast that came from Romania if I'm not mistaken.
I think the us coach at the time was from Romania as well.

American culture is the greatest on the planet. I don't know of another country where citizens go around the world adopting disabled kids and give them love and devotion and a chance at a nice life.
All this divisiveness we're experiencing from able bodied and able minded social retards really shows how selfless and courageous many Americans are and how stupid all of these perceived wrongs are in society.

Same here.. I suppose I was in the 2nd or 3rd grade during her Olympic reign, but I remember having arguments with my buddies about who's girlfriend she was - of course she was mine damn it.

Same here.
Also read the autobiography she came out with in 2012 and she had a pretty f-ed up life beyond just her younger sister being put up for adoption. Abuse from her father, abuse from her coaches, relative poverty, apparently her parents' marriage was an arranged marriage, etc. Pretty impressive that you can come up from that background and be as accomplished and level-headed as she is.
