And what are the best sets in each of the big 3 sports right now?

Say budget is $500-800.

Baseball looking for autos and more prospect-forward (bowman??)

Basketball & football rookies, auto, jersey cards, etc.

My favorite were always bowman inception.

Was like 8 cards for $100. Primarily prospects. I want to say every card was an auto or relic.

bowman chrome mega boxes. Walmart has them. Sports cards are my jam. Got a huge jamarr chase collection. Basketball is optic. Nba hoops. Prizm. Mosaic. Panini contenders. Select.

Football is same as basketball. You should be able to get alot for your budget. Also if your wife has a target red card go on their website and look under the collectors spot. You can find boxes there.

Bowman's and Topps Chrome for Baseball

Avoid Absolute for football. You are chasing Kaboom's and man is it expensive

eBay without question. Guaranteed you will find a better price than walking into a local shop. More supply = much better deal.

If you like card breaks I’m a big fan of mojobreak. They do breaks every day and have a lot of the bowman draft, inception stuff

You aren’t getting super high end cards at $500-800. At that price point you are looking at retail or blaster boxes. If you want hobby boxes you are gonna need more coin.

Well forgeries on card autographs can be identified.

And a sealed hobby box is a sealed hobby box. It will say it in the description and should show it in the picture. You can literally see that it is a Topps sealed Hobby Box. If you don't receive exactly what us described or pictured eBay gives you your money back.

Also, buy from a highly rated seller. Don't buy from someone with zero feedback.

This is unquestionably, undeniably, verifiably false.
