I was telling a guy on Friday that I would pay good money to see Boo leading the Masters on Sunday and riding is driver up the 18th fairway at Augusta like he did in the Ryder Cup
I really just want to drink a beer with him. The guy still lives in a damn single-wide.

My good friend (who's father started and owns Bass Pro) is good friends with Boo. Plays with him all the time, actually has Boo's driver in his bag. His special shaft is called the Boo-Doo.
And the head of the driver has RealTree camo paintjob
Mickelson is the biggest dick from what I've heard and has a huge gambling problem and I hear him and his wife are swingers. My worst encounter came when I carried a sign for Jesper Parnavik. He was throwing temper tantrums the whole day and was super rude to me and all the fans following him.

What tourney? I've done Nationwide, LPGA, and PGA when I was younger. Always had great pairings. Very nice, some even talked to you along the course.
Worst encounter I've seen in person was by Monte. He was just quite smug, might be that Euro in him though. This was during the '06 US Open when he was challenging down the stretch.
ETA: Tell your friends Dad I want to play with Boo. I'll drive over to Milton at anytime.

I played a few holes with Heath Slocum while he was in college, thats about the closest I've gotten to playing with a pro golfer. That and a guy I used to play Junior Golf with who's going to be winning $$ in a few years.

I actually have some inside info confirming that ol' Phil is really a major, pompous a-hole. Too tired to type the story...maybe tomorrow.

I think Tiger is just as bad, but gets a pass because....well, because he's Tiger.

There's a difference between being cocky and being a jerk. If you can back up your cockiness then you are not seen as so much of a jerk. If you can't, then that's when you get into real jerk territory. See Rory Sabbatini & Sergio Garcia.

A buddy of mine went to Augusta for the practice rounds a few years ago and said of all the golfers he had access to, the one who left him hanging was David Toms.

Let me turn the tables on this conversation for a moment. Had the oppportunity to meet Ben Crane after last year's Players. Not just one of most gentlmanly golfers but one of the truly nicest people I've ever met. He took photos w/ us signed badges for some nephews and engaged in a normal conversation. During his introduction he said a few words and took questions from the group. With each question he stressed how his faith in God was the number one thing in his life. Obviously that prompted questions from the crowd and he answered all very patiently. Really really nice guy. I've found myself rooting for him ever since.

My vote is Tiger Woods. He's all smiles, high fives and fist pumps when its going well but when its not, you get what you saw this weekend---throwing clubs, faking a limp after hitting the tree on #17, dropping his putter on the green and generally acting like a baby. Also, in his interviews he gives short sentences and tries to make the interviewers feel stupid for asking the same questions they ask everyone. This guy is so full of himself you can smell it through the TV.
Phil may be a two-face (we'll never know unless we hang out with him), but he never throws his clubs down, never acts like an arse to an interviewer and very patiently and thoughtfully answers all the questions asked of him win or lose.
I lost all respect for Tiger yesterday when he busted out the fake limp after hitting the tree on #17.
Just one hole before when he stuck his tee shot to three feet on #16 he was marching up to the green full blast ahead of everyone. That is fake.

yeah, because Tiger is the only one that ever drops his clubs when he misses a shot.
When Perry missed his Eagle yesterday on the back nine, he did the same thing. I think he even did it earlier in the tourney.
Your crybabying over Tiger has gotten pretty thick in a very short period of time.

I'm not crybabying over tiger, but those who think Phil is a bigger jerk need to take off the media tinged glasses.
Tiger is as big a jerk as there is, and maybe thats part of what makes him great. I actually love to watch him play I just don't root for him.

You're full of shite. I've never seen him be anything but respectful to reporters.

John Daily. Dude is a total snob.

Phil might talk shite to the other golfers, and they may hate him for it. That could all be true. But maybe he realizes that those are the guys he's trying to beat every week and that it's ok to be nice to fans and kids because they don't have anything to do with that.
I'm not gonna say he's a bad sport because I've never seen him whine when he loses, he just probably can't back his shite up all the time. But I don't see why it's hard to believe the guy could be an a-hole to the other players and nice to fans and media, and even be genuinely nice to them. They aren't trying to beat him and take a paycheck from him every week.

As for Tiger, I think the guy is just kind of a loner. Because of the way he was brought up, and this is not a knock in any way, Tiger may not be the most social guy in the world. It's been pretty well documented that on Tour, and outside of golf, he has a very small group of close friends.
He can come off as a jerk sometimes to most people, but I don't think there's any ill feelings involved toward anyone. It's just the way he genuinely is.

The difference between Tiger and Phil is that Phil pretends on camera to be a nice guy, Tiger is always serious and two-faced, what you see is what you get with him
