Super Bowl 2024 could have Chiefs, Ravens, Lions or 49ers, but it will certainly have some zebras.

The NFL announced the officiating crew for Feb. 11 winner-take-all match at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada, which will be led by veteran referee Bill Vinovich.

quote:

Vinovich was the referee for the now-infamous 2019 NFC championship game in which Rams cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman laid a helmet-to-helmet hit on Tommylee Lewis late in the fourth quarter.

Officials did not penalize the hit and the Rams went on to win in overtime.

I’m not sure getting rewarded for following orders would be considered failing.

It’s not rigged.

I don’t know about you but if I was rigging a game I would not wait until the team I did not want to win was going for a 3rd conversion away from being a pro kill the clock and kick a chip shot FG and then buzz the refs to not call PI so the team you don’t want to win has to kick a a go ahead FG with 1:40 instead. I certainly wouldn’t have the team I want to win loss the coin toss in OT.

that call should have banned him from Super Bowls for life especially when it involved his hometown team

He had NOTHING to do with that call.

As a white hat on a pass play he has the passer until he makes a move to participate in the play. End of story. Only one official's key was the db and wr on that play. Get over it.

only if he as a white hat would have been looking downfield where that action took place and had taken his eyes off of the QB at that point.

It's rigged in the sense that it's guided. They don't precisely script everything but they most certainly have desired outcomes; teams they'd like to see move forward and prosper in any given season.

If it were exactly scripted the fix would be too obvious and people would stop saying "it's not rigged". They give it just enough of a nudge so that the majority of people will go on believing it's not rigged.

Naw, that was a restart one-off.

If KC Swifties make it, bet the house.

deep wing was the one that had coverage on that the back judge had another key.

all 8 officials have their own keys and while they do overlap it is pretty rare. As an R you have to trust the other officials saw what they say they did or didn't.

Every ref and crew has some terribly missed calls. Correct?

what is the benefit of announcing this now?

all it does is give the mafia a chance to test this guy and make some dough. NFL refs don't make that much money
