Bob Baffert is back at the Kentucky Derby with 2 contenders after serving suspension

The GOAT is back tan rested and ready.
Bob Baffert is back at the Kentucky Derby for the first time in four years, having served his punishment for Medina Spirit’s failed drug test and coming to the place where he’s won a record-tying six times.
He’s settled in at his old Barn 33, the signs boasting of his Churchill Downs triumphs again hanging on the outside wall.
“I’m going to have fun now that everything is behind me,” Baffert told The Associated Press in an interview this week.
The white-haired trainer will saddle Wood Memorial winner Rodriguez and Citizen Bull, last year’s 2-year-old champion, in the Derby on May 3.
“Going back with a live horse is more important to me,” he said. “I really feel like this year I have two horses that could be in the top five, top 10.”
Baffert spent the last three years away from the race he values most, relegated to watching on television with family and friends. Taking away some of the sting was the knowledge that he didn’t have a horse he believed could have won it those years.

Horse racing is not a serious sport if this guy is back

Baffert is the Ric Flair of horse racing

This is like when Ozzy Osbourne pissed on the Alamo and got banned from San Antonio for ten years....then he came back and rocked that joint.

Churchill is going to do everything possible to prevent him from winning. You can already toss his horse on the rail. Baffert didn't have a chance regardless, what horse he brought to Kentucky.

I’m still waiting on a final destination style end for him. The heart attack in Dubai should’ve gotten to him.
He’s already up to his old tricks with citizen bull.
Also, he’s back bc the breeders cup threatened Churchill. His continued litigation and denials were keeping him out.

Then why was he having his owners sue to get in?

Whatever the shitty little narcissist wants to say to make himself feel better.

He is dirty and goes all the way back to his days as a quarter horse trainer

He needs to write a book like Lance Armstrong, "Its Not About the Horse" with a forward by Balco founder Victor Conti.

He’s already trashed this year’s “horse of a lifetime”
Barely held 3rd in a 3 horse allowance after shipping to New York. He cooked him in the Arkansas derby trying to rush and make the ky gate. Hate to see it happen again.

The main reason I clicked on this thread was in hopes of your replies.
Not disappointed.

I’m waiting to see if anything pops up on bull for the vets to scratch him. Didn’t ship on time and worked in Cali. Baffert’s mo is usually a 4-5 furlong work a week out. He stayed home and worked 7 a week and a half out. I bet he either needed bute to work or the day after to hide soreness and Cali always looks the other way for him. If he worked at Churchill I bet they vets would have scratched him the next day.

Aspy—who do you like ? I was all in on Tappan Street until the injury. Looking at Journalism hard as Curlin has always been my favorite horse. Enjoyed watching his nimbleness at the SA. Sovereignty seems to be improving and is in my Tri. Waiting to see what the weather brings for the rest.

They all do what Baffert got caught doing. I'll bet Baffert changed his VET after this.

Everyone but the 1 and 4
J/k. Or am I?
I’m not sure. Everything depends on if east avenue gets up there to push Rodriguez and Bull. I think they are going to try to rate Owen. Daytona doesn’t necessarily need the lead so they may try to rate him too.I really love how journalism has looked every morning. I probably won’t make up my damn mind until satuday.
I think we get some huge prices hitting the board.
In the oaks I really like quietside. I saw all of good cheer’s preps and she is the one to beat, but all the filly races at fg were small this year.
He’ll probably end up beating me, but I don’t like how sovereignty moves. Hollow backed and head up. When he was jogging with the pony the other day his trot had a lot of knee action. Maybe that smooths out as he speeds up.
