So he is making for than a lot of pro players off of one endorsement.
While I am glad he is a Trojan, these are strange times we live in.
NIL Deal

Seems strange for a guy 99% of people couldn’t pick out of a crowd.

That is one strong arse offer

Wow. I didn't think anyone but high-end pros made that kind of money off a single endorsement

Dj Ungeleilei had a million dollar Pepsi deal last year. They just picked a hyped qb.

Quinn Ewers had 1.4 million dollars and did not play a single down.
They even made an ad campaign about him "returning" his cars after he transferred.

imagine what a truly transcendent, legit celebrity college player like Reggie Bush or Tim Tebow would get in today's NIL market

I have a feeling we will find out sooner than later.
These corporations are going to target players they know are going to go high in the NFL draft, give them multi-millionaire contracts, and then probably position for a bigger percentage when they get a pro contract.
Just a thought.

The kids just needed money to buy a burger and a movie ticket on the weekend

This is how NIL is actually supposed to work though. Not fake charities funneling money to backup linemen.

When do you arbitrarily decide that the players are making too much money? Curious to what your line is

The Beats co-founders, Jimmy Iovine and Dr Dre, are both big SC fans, and have previously made substantial contributions to the school. Not sure how much say-so they have over Beats post-acquisition, but likely enough to get Caleb a NIL deal (perhaps Tim Cook only approved so long as he could sign Auburn’s next star football recruit to a multi-million dollar Apple NIL deal
).

I'd say when they make more than their scholarship is worth.

It will be interesting to see how it changes the landscape.
Cities like LA, which have huge donors [for instance USC, which has many billionaire alumni; second for P5 teams to Stanford and three ahead of Michigan (who has 26)-- ((Stanford has 74))] versus college towns like Baton Rouge (not saying one is better than the other) that may not have the same financial resources strategize this free-for-all.
I really think they need to put a cap in place. Just like in pro sports. shite, Arkansas, with Wal-Mart money, could field the most lucrative team in the SEC.

Right, Williams may be the second most recognizable player to casual fans next year.

Who cares.
Elite players follow money.
Are you saying you will not take a job because they offer you twice what you make right now?
That's being unrealistic.
