Callaway X Series n415 irons

needed some new irons and snagged these for pretty cheap at dicks. Hit them pretty well into the simulator and they feel good (which is all that really matters), but I can't find a review anywhere on them. Anybody have the scoop on these, they seem to fly under the radar.

Generally, the N designation for Callaway means it's a rebranded old model sold at discount prices. Sort of how Apple took the iPhone 5's guts and put it in the plastic iPhone 5c. Some of the cosmetic touches might not be as nice (my X-24 doesn't have the beveling of the proper model X-24 Hot around the rear cavity) Quick googling makes me say this looks like a rebranded X-Hot iron set. That was the 2013 model. Should perform admirably though. Lofts may be less strong than the model they're inspired by, which can be a good thing. Check their site and compare.

I would seriously like to see a study done using new clubs versus clubs from 10 years ago to see if there really is any difference in performance. My guess is going to say no.

There is going to be a bigger difference in forgiveness than there is overall performance

you might be right if they were both in the same condition, however the wear and tear are taking a tole

Why choose 10 years?
Taylormade has made approximately 17 drivers in the last 2 years...each one being 8-12 yards long-ier than the previous version.

shite load of single digit players play old as shite irons.
I can see buying a new Driver every couple of years, but irons stand the test of time. Of course new ones will help with forgiveness.

They should be pretty good. I bought a set of Taylor RocketBalz last year and I have been very impressed. The new technology is that the face is thinner to give more spring on the ball at impact. I looked at the Callaways but I chose the Taylors because the price was pretty good (Edwin Watts).
I had been playing some pretty old Wilson 1200's and the new clubs put 10-15 yds on my game. You should be pretty satisfied with the Callaways depending on what you had before anyway.

Just be aware that many of the modern game improvement irons have much stronger lofts than their predecessors from years back.
This adds yardage but it isn't simply because the clubs are that much better.
