Stern was able to veto the CP3 trade because the NBA was at the time the technical owner of the Hornets.

This is bad for the league, but i'm guessing Silver is too neutered to do anything. At this point, the NBA is saying frick Dallas as we only care about the bluebloods. I mean Dallas could've been set up with 4+ first round picks if they went out to auction but they get Street Clothes and a likely worthless 1st in 29.
