Derrick Henry has hit 20 MPH more than any player not named Tyreek Hill

This since ESPN’s Next Gen Stats debuted in 2018.

The NFL’s Next Gen Stats tracking shows that Henry hit a top speed of 21.29 mph on his 87-yard touchdown run against the Bills. That was the eighth-fastest speed reached by a ball carrier since Next Gen Stats tracking began in 2018.
In that time, Henry has now hit 20 mph 27 times. Only Tyreek Hill, who has hit 20 mph 73 times, has reached the 20 mph mark while carrying the ball more times than Henry has.
Hill is one of the fastest players the NFL has ever seen, and the fact that he’s hit 20 mph almost three times as many times as any other ball carrier is a testament to his speed. But it’s also an extraordinary accomplishment for Henry to be in second place, given that Henry weighs about 250 pounds. The NFL has never seen a player with Henry’s combination of size and speed.

Henry is a absolute beast

That’s terrifying.
Only horses and motorized vehicles should move that fast at that size.

Could you imagine being a 190 pound 5' 11" DB trying to tackle DH in the open field?

He’s what Trent Richardson was supposed to be

Muschamp wanted him as a LB

It’s crazy how fast he is.
I suppose because he’s so damn big his running style is not very smooth and he just doesn’t “look” fast.
Just wish AL fans didn’t have to post every factoid that pops into their heads about guys that are so far removed from their programs that a casual fan doesn’t remember where they went. Haha!

I assume they’re rewinding film all day and timing people vs the hash marks or what

Most scouts felt he was a LB long term. As the article stated, the NFL has never seen someone like this at RB. The size, speed, athleticism combo is as elite as it gets. Though most overuse the term "generational talent", Henry truly is one.

You assume wrong

NFL Next Gen Stats — developed in partnership with Zebra Technologies, Wilson Sporting Goods and running entirely on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure — provide clubs with data to analyze trends and player performance, while enhancing the fans’ experience in-stadium, online and during game telecasts.
A tracking system is installed in every NFL venue which is composed of:
20–30 ultra-wide band receivers
2–3 radio-frequency identification (RFID) tags installed into the players’ shoulder pads
RFID tags on officials, pylons, sticks, chains, and in the ball
Altogether, an estimated 250 devices are in a venue for any given game. A team of three operators is required at every game to confirm that all tracking systems are functioning properly.

Still annoying that he got the Heisman (downhill runner at Bama getting 75 carries/game) over McCaffrey.
