Cowboys here.
It depends to me on what side of the state you're on. West- Atlanta. Everywhere else- Carolina.
I would say the Cowboys and Steelers are more popular than Atlanta if you were take an overall fan poll.

Very accurate

I unfortunately root for the Saints.
Most people that I know here root for the Panthers and Falcons....for the ones that actually care.
I know a few Jags fans in SC....that actually admit it.

I would say that SC is similar to Alabama in that the NFL takes a back seat to college football.
West of Saluda is generally Falcons territory. This includes Anderson, Abbeville, Greenwood, Aiken and Edgefield. The rest of the state is primarily Panther fans. There are some Jaguar fans in Beaufort and Jasper Counties near Savannah.

The Redskins were the regionally televised team prior to the Falcons. I'm guessing this continued for a decade or so because the Redskins were your father's and your grandfather's team if you're from South Carolina.
The Upstate of South Carolina quickly adopted the Panthers. The Panthers were started in Spartanburg, SC. Richardson played college ball at Wofford College and based his business headquarters there. They played their first season in Clemson.
It 's bizarre to visit Charleston in the fall because they broadcast Jaguars games.

The Jags coverage generally stops once you pass McClellanville and get into Georgetown County. I live in Horry County and we get the CBS game of the week or the Panthers if they're on CBS.

First link says the NYG are the most popular team in Connecticut. I assumed that was Patriot country

Probably depends on which one is in the playoffs. Panther fans last year and now falcon fans this year.

Jags games?
I've lived in Charleston almost my entire life minus a brief stint in the Navy and Louisiana.
Panthers games have ALWAYS been broadcast in Charleston. The city is overwhelmingly Panthers territory for the locals. The only thing that skews those stats is the large influx of transplants from Ohio and the Northeast recently.

The CBS affiliate in Charleston airs Jags games. The Fox station does air Panthers games, but when the Panthers are playing on Fox, the CBS game is the Jags unless they are off or playing on Fox themselves. If you live in Beaufort, Bluffton or HHI, you're closer to Jacksonville than you are Charlotte. Makes sense.

I get this.

I've never not been able to watch a Panthers game in Charleston while at my house.

Lived in both Rock Hill and Hilton Head. Two extreme locations in the state. Everyone in Rock Hill is Panther fans, since Charlotte is 20 mins away. In Hilton Head, its mostly Steeler fans. After that, Id say the Falcons and Panthers have about equal fans, with Jacksonville next.

tons of people are put off by cam's immaturity. panthers would have alot more fans and revenue if they parted ways with cam.

I would assume the Panthers playing in Charlotte (as opposed to, for example, Raleigh) makes it more likely SC people would cheer for them.

They are the "Carolina Panthers". They hold their training camp in Spartanburg, SC. Their panther logo is in the shape/outline of the two states together.
