Drew Bledsoe almost died from a game injury in 2001?

I vaguely remember this, an ESPN just showed a flashback clip because that was when Brady took over. They said internal bleeding was the cause on SC, but I was just curious how close of a call this was. Anyone know

It was serious, not critical, I think. But remember, Brady got hurt in the AFC Championship game that year and Bledsoe came in and won it, to get the Pats to the Super Bowl. Bledsoe deserves a lot of credit. He helped Brady alot and was a team player.

Torn inferior vena cava I believe. Must have been a small tear, but I still would not want one. A large tear and he would have staggered off and died within a minute or so.

Remember when Chris Simms had a ruptured spleen? That was pretty serious as well.

Joey Harrington was probably sucking arse and was pulled for that reason. Team Gave the lame fake excuse just to be nice to him.

Ryan Clark's blood sickled from the altitude in Denver a few years ago. He lost 30 pounds, and they had to remove his spleen and gallbladder if I remember correctly.
