I usually don't bite on these lists but my goodness this list is trash.

Adrian Peterson not being even an honorable mention is truly laughable. As is Baker being #2.

Hell, is Suh really the best CFB player in the 21st century? I don't think so. Tebow's career was insane for example.

Where the frick is Matt Leinart?

37-2 record
Both losses by 3 points. 1st to Cal and Aaron Rodgers on the road in OT. 2nd to Texas and Vince Young with 19 seconds left in the National Championship.

6th in 2003 Heisman
1st in 2004 Heisman
3rd in 2005 Heisman

Great passing stats for that time period, especially considering he played in a pro style offense.

Leinart should've probably made honorable mention, but with Tebow at 6, it's clear that "overall career" didn't carry as much weight as individual dominance.

In other words, both leinart and Tebow were very beneficial of being multi-year starter with insane surrounding talent.

Matt had way more talent around him than Tebow had. And it’s not close.

why are we talking about tim tebow's production in 2006 as anything less than super impressive and an added bonus to his ridiculous resume?

reading some of these posts, it sounds like people are almost using his 2006 season as a negative for him. complete insanity.

I think people that weren't really around at the time forget how dominant he was. It's not often you see a 3-time All American on the D-Line. He completely took over games.

His numbers don’t really stand out and he didn’t really have a dominant junior season. I don’t see how he would belong on this list

He was decent. He made headlines after one great play….Suh had like 50 plays like that in college.

It would be interesting to see Saban's top 25. But obviously there'd be some SEC bias. Not that he'd be trying to be biased, but it's just there because of years and years of film study on SEC players.
Everybody has some sort of bias to varying degrees. To aim at objectivity, maybe lists from coaches across the country, with each region represented. Then some lists from some NFL scouts. They take a broad and deep look at players. Their bias would be toward guys with more NFL potential, which isn't what this top 25 is about, even though there's a lot of overlap.
Combine all the lists from coaches and scouts into one list based on the average rating. That would probably be a good, relatively unbiased list.
