Isnt this part of the risk of betting? I get it sucks the dude got hurt but you bet on him scoring x points or whatever and it didnt happen. Maybe im just cynical, idk.

Wait, bettors are really trying to get their money back on this?

I guarantee they wouldn't be bitching had they taken the under on him.
He played. All bets are valid.

He started, played 3 minutes, and got hurt.
Sucks, but the bet stands.

Didn't one of the sites try to frick betters out of an o/u with Draymond Green when he stepped on the court for 30 seconds and then came out?

That's the risk when you bet. Draymond played. Luka played.

What a weird non conference pairing for late January

Yeah this is standard. If a guy plays, the bet counts, regardless of how long. That's the way it goes unless there's some outlandish reason the game ends due to something like the malice at the palace.

If you're not ok with losing money, you probably shouldn't be betting.

Apparently they’ve done this type of thing in the past, so it’s their own fault creating that expectation. I thought it was kind of the point of sports betting to factor in the possibility of injuries when placing one.

2 different games
Drexel/NCAT
UCLA/USC
Both dominated the 1st half and was dominated in the 2nd half because why not

Poor people mad they lost money gambling
If he played at all, it’s all fair. Now if he didn’t play at all, the money should be refunded. In game injuries are one of the risks for playing overs and is why the overs always seem favorable. Injury risk is accounted for

This is what happens when you constantly advertise betting everywhere and make it easily available from your phone. Poor people and gambling addicts get in trouble. Not saying that casinos/apps are responsible for that, but it’s definitely an effect. Knowledgeable, experienced bettors wouldn’t be giving the casinos grief. The sharps probably had the under anyway
This leads me to wonder if the increase in public betting has made winning easier for the sharps since there’s greater volume of stupid public money now with the apps

FD, and other books, have actually done good by refunding tickets on some crazy circumstances, but a dude averaging 37 minutes/game and spraining his ankle, should not qualify. That's just shitty luck. Take your L and move on.

well put. it’s not like the terms aren’t explicit. the other day I had Lamar Jackson over 8.5 rushing attempts or something like that, and he got hurt on the first drive. my first reaction was laughter, not tweeting at the book

Yep.
I've had Fan Duel void bets on player props before the game starts if information came out that the player wasn't playing. But never have they, nor would I expect them to void a player prop bet if the guy got hurt during the game. That's the risk I'm taking.
