I remember he had cancer and today was my first time seeing him on tv in a few years being that I don’t watch espn nfl countdown. It just caught me off guard on how frail he looks now and I hope everything is ok with him.

It’s depressing every time they bring him on. Last time I saw him on air, he could barely speak. Screw cancer.

Dude survived stage 4 throat cancer, he’s very lucky to be alive. Throat C is arguably one of the worst cancers to have. Chemo and radiation destroy ALL your teeth. Chemo and radiation also make the throat raw and it feels like you’re swallowing hot coals and shards of glass every time you swallow water, saliva, and jello. Most have to use a feeding tube inserted into their stomach and pour 6-8 packs of protein formula into the tube. Side effects also include Fkd up digestive system where you shite liquid all day long.
I know first hand as my dad is a throat cancer survivor and sadly he resembles the physical appearance of John Clayton before his passing. My dad has been miserable for 3 years and has said if the cancer returns, he is NOT going through the treatment again.

Damn, that is terrible to hear man. Sorry your dad went through that and glad he is a survivor.

I had stage 3 and finished 4 chemistry and 30 radiation treatments on Feb 3rd of 2021. It wrecks havoc on your entire body. Feeding tube for 6 months kept me alive, still 3 stints in the hospital for dehydration.
A year later I still have no saliva, (eating is hard without it), tastebuds are crazy odd (I don't taste seeets at all and the least but of spice is rough and I used to eat a lot of slice). I lost all my muscle tone and it is hard at 53 to get it back.
I would not wish it on anyone for sure, I wouldn't have made it without my wife.

Prayers and support sent brother. I know exactly what you’re going through as my dad is 78. He went from 210# to 152# and rail thin. Zero muscle mass, weak, some days he can barely walk or get out of bed. Even the smell of food cooking would make him nauseous. My mom had to eat sandwiches, fruit, soup, and vegetables for 2+ years and didn’t cook meals on the stove / oven. Your wife is a life saver
