I like the playoffs. NIL is out of control, but that's a separate issue.

Transfer rules should have reverted back to how they were in the bcs era, once NIL became a thing.

Yes and no. I like the playoffs. I would like a newer BCS style system to help rank teams that look at strength of schedule and all of these new analytics that can break down schedules, games, and stats much better than any human and BCS system did . A healthy combination of computer rankings and a human decisions. The hardest part I have with that though, and I have ALWAYS been against it, I hate preseason rankings. You can win against a top 10 team and they end up being one of the worse (FSU 2024). I don't think teams should be ranked until week 6. And let the newer AI BCS style system rank them in a poll and humans can have their poll.

As for NIL, that's a whole different discussion. I said it would ruin college sports and so far, nothing has convinced me it wont.

Unlimited transfers is the root problem. The rest would work itself out

I've been a very strong proponent of a playoff, but yes I kinda miss the old system now.

It was silly and didn't make sense but in a fun and entertaining kind of way.

It's no longer unique and all the NIL bullshite waters it down even more.

Teams like Ole Miss can compete now, so no.

That was kind of what set college football apart. It was messy but you could end your season winning a BCS bowl game and be happy. It wasn’t all about the national championship.

BCS was goated.

I would go back in a heartbeat. That being said, the on campus playoff games are moving the needle.

Should make all playoff games on campus with just the NC game at a neutral site.

I don’t think it’s NIL alone that’s the problem. The portal allowing for basically open bidding every season on every player is the problem.

NIL is not the issue. Its the portal. Hell, I believe the taking violence out of the game/targeting has done way more to hurt CFB than NIL.

If there were no portal, NIL could be more accurately budgeted and it would be more of a long term contract than year to year deals.

4 team playoff was plenty. There will continue to be nothing but blowouts in first and even second round games.

6 Team Playoff; top 2 teams get a bye. The committee goes away and the BCS decides who the playoff teams are. Transfer rules go back to the BCS era. NIL has salary cap and teams get sanctioned and penalties for violating the cap in the form of roster reductions.

I miss the old era Pre BCS era.
It wasn't perfect but the tradition of CFB was never higher.

The NCAA completely botched NIL because they were on the wrong side until it was too late to do anything about it. Transfer portal is gasoline on the fire.

I like the playoff system ok.
