Sure but a smart guy in his position would just not say anything. I’d bet a lot of money he will be in the transfer portal again next year

That said, good players can have some bad fricking games at the worst time.
Here's the thing - where below is any evidence of a good player? Non-factor for his 3 big tests, mediocre against the average, good against the bottom-feeders. That's on a joke of an OOC slate and lucking into 6 of the 7 worst teams in the SEC

4 OOC
UTC (FCS 7-5) - 314 yards / 3 TD / 0 INT
NC State (5-7) - 211 yards / 2 TD / 2 INT
Kent State (0-12) - 173 yards / 1 TD / 0 INT
UTEP (3-9) - 209 yards / 4 TD / 0 INT

8 SEC
#2 UGA (11-3) - 167 yards / 0 TD / 0 INT
#4 Bama (9-3) - 194 yards / 1 TD / 1 INT
#10 UF (8-5) - 169 yards / 0 TD / 1 INT
#11 Arky (7-6) - 158 yards / 0 TD / 0 INT
#12 Vandy (7-6) - 257 yards / 4 TD / 0 INT
#13 OU (6-7) - 194 yards / 1 TD / 0 INT
#15 UK (4-8) - 292 yards / 1 TD / 0 INT
#16 MSU (2-10) - 174 yards / 2 TD / 0 INT

CFB
OSU (14-2) - 104 yards (45.2%) / 0 TD / 0 INT

Player A
Passing 213/334 (63.8%) / 2,616 yards (7.8 / attempt) / 19 TDs / 5 INTs

Player B
Passing 165/275 (60.0%) / 2,463 yards (9.0 / attempt) / 16 TDs / 2 INTs

One of these is Nico in 2024. The other is LSU's Danny Etling in 2017. Both were along for the ride, not driving. 1 of them just didn't know it

This is obviously absurd because throwing the game is not the way to get more money (unless they’re arguing he bet against Tennessee or something). Not to mention, while he obviously didn’t have a good passing game, but between the pressure and coverage, he didn’t have much a chance to have a good one. And he did make the best out of nothing a few times with his legs, despite taking some hard hits, so that’s not really what I would expect if someone was throwing the game.

That being said, I have yet to see it someone accuse him of throwing the game, so I doubt this was much more of some dumb, random fans. But I did see a lot of valid criticisms over and over.

So it might be a bit telling that he decided to actually make some comments, and only focused on likely the small minority of dumb criticisms, and ignored the vast majority of valid criticisms. Just feels like it’s related to the broader issue of not taking any accountability, and pretending that this was all Tennessee’s fault. He didn’t want more money; all he wanted was Tennessee to bring in more offensive lineman and receivers, but it was also because it was Heupel’s offense that was the problem all along.

So apparently all he wanted Tennessee to bring in those offensive lineman and receivers for the next QB to run the problematic offense. But the offense must not have been too problematic when he committed, when they were explosive. It also must not have been too problematic his first season, despite getting much worse with a QB that had accuracy issues. But it is problematic when he had some accuracy issues apparently.

That was brutal. Heck Marcus Randall or Anthony Jennings could have completed any of those passes.
