Hole in one vs. 300 game- which is easier?

In your opinion, which is easier? FWIW, it is a given that there are far more bowlers than golfers.
For the professionals on major or minor tours- definitely easier to roll a perfect game. Most who've been active for years have at least 20-30
For the avid golfer (10 handicap) and bowler (170-180 ish average) a hole in one is more definitely more probable
For the average recreational bowler (one league a week) and golfer (round per week) a hole in one is much more likely than a 300.
For the all others who can swing a golf club and roll a ball, a hole in one is more likely.

I would say a 300 game is easier but only because I've seen a 300 game in person but never a hole-in-one. I guess I need to spend more time on a golf course and less in a bowling alley?

I think it comes down to the fact that at a certain point you can bowl a 300 on mostly skill.
A hole in one always requires some luck.
If you don't have the level of skill necessary you can just hope for a lucky hole in one. Not so much on the 300.

Yes. While both increase with skill, a 300 becomes much more probable. The converse is true when the skill declines- relaitive to a 300, the worse one is, the more likely a hole in one compared to a 300.

IMO, nah. If you follow the papers there are usually more holes in one per week than 300's at your local links and alleys. And there are still many many many more people that bowl per week.
Although isn't Ohio one of the bowling capitols?

hole in one is easier
I play golf once a week, I shoot around 90- and I have two hole in ones in my life
bowling I get to 140-160 but never could get close to a perfect game

I hit a legit hole in one once.
Have bowled for years, have been close but not that close to 300.

Same here. I averaged 185 for a season and the closest I sniffed was 6 strikes to start a game and 242. Have seen a couple of holes in ones from average Joes. Saw a 300, but this guy has a 215-220 average and plays in local and regional cash tourneys. Saw a 299 once from a 190 average bowler. That sucked.

a couple years ago i avged between 170-190 bowling before i stopped playing. I occassionally would hit in the 240's. I think I could have bowled a 300 at one point in time.

Id say for just an average person who doesnt bowl or play golf regularly, a hole in one is easier. It requires one shot and a LOT of luck, while a 300 takes something like 12 shots of skill and even some luck.
If you are an avid bowler a 300 is easier because you have the skill to actually bowl consitent strikes, while even the most experienced golfer needs alot of luck to hit the hole in one.

Hole in one has to be easier; because, there is so much less pressure involved. The later in the frames you get, the harder the 300 becomes.
Hole in one is one great shot, but a 300 game you have to make 12 great shots.
Also, an average player can get lucky and hit a hole in one, but an average player is much less likely to get so lucky as to bowl a 300.

I would say a hole in one would be easier. It requires one perfect swing. A 300 would require 12 perfect bowls.

Easier to attain would be a 300, because if you work at it and become decent, you can bowl a 300 based on your skill, like said above. A hole in one is primarily luck. A shot that comes off perfect may not go in, while a skulled shot will. It's just whether you get a good bounce

professional bowlers can probably get a a couple 300 games a yr, but professional golfers might have 1 during their whole life-time if they are lucky.

one lucky swing.
you can swing perfect a thousand times and still never get a hole in one.
Many times has a novice golfer hit a hole in one. I would suspect that most that have bowled a 300 game were more than novices.
it is sort of a silly comparison imo, because who gives a frick if someone bowled a 300 game?

Didn't know that but we do have a lot of bowling allys

I think a hole in one is easier. If you play a lot of par three courses you will get many more opportunities compared to bowling 5 games a week in a league.

Hole-in-one is easier. 300 game requires consistency. You get ~6 strikes in a row and you're on edge each time up after that.
