How are the Cleveland Guardians winning baseball games?

Besides scoring more runs than the other teams.
Their starters don’t seem like anything special. I know they have a really good bullpen but what am I missing?

They are coming together as a team over their hatred of the owner who wants to move the team.

The bullpen is key. I'll give you am example. I'm in my 50's and have watched baseball since 1977. All through that time, EVERY single World Series winner had a good bullpen. What I mean by that, is a few guys that can come in during a tight game, and get outs. The Yankees got too much credit during their run of rings, with the starters during the Jeter era. However, what many people didn't realize, was their bullpen was lights out. Riviera was the icing on the cake, but those guys before him, were really good. You make valid points about scoring runs, but pitching will always get outs, along with mistake free defense. Go ask the 1986 Red Sox. Bill Buckner had no business being in that game in the 10th inning. The poor guy basically croaked with a broken heart, due to the fact that his manager wanted to keep him in for the last out. Sentimental things doesn't win. Cleveland has a good group of players that give 100% effort for Tito everyday.

Tito retired after last season

Tito is not their manager anymore. It's Stephen Vogt. But, anyway, you're right that you need a good bullpen to succeed. However, I don't think that sufficiently answers the OP's question, as it usually doesn't do much good to have a good bullpen and defense, if you don't have frontline starters and at least a good offense. There are some teams who have had good bullpens, but who weren't very good. The Yankees led baseball in bullpen ERA last year, but only won 82 games.
And when you look at this Cleveland roster, overall, it's just not very impressive. But somehow, they keep winning. It kind of feels like a slide has to come for them at some point, though they'll still end up winning that division, most likely.

I don't know but I find it very frustrating

The Yankees also had Cole + not much else and an offense that was extremely feast or famine.
The bullpen is the reason they even won 82.

I’m sure those years of you as a baby watching baseball were informative

They’re a well run org, and in addition to the pen, they’re getting more production at the plate. Kwan and David Fry have been great so far.

That was the point. It takes a team to win games. It doesn't really answer the question of how a team is winning by simply pointing out that they have a good bullpen. If you don't have some kind of balance, you're not going anywhere. Cleveland isn't just winning; they have the second best record in all of baseball, just behind the Phillies, and it's a little perplexing how it's happening, when you consider their lack of balance on offense, and names in their rotation that don't exactly strike most people as being particularly scary.

By scoring more runs than their opponents

Jeff Nelson and the big Aussie Graeme Lloyd were nails every damn time their number was called.

Clase is a good closer out of the bullpen and has been for a few years.
