How do you pronounce Perez?

The correct pronounciatiton is like the city in France (in English) .. but why do commentators keep butchering it? But it doesn't end there, the cubs new catcher, Avila, is getting butchered too. These are average Spanish last names, if you don't know how to pronounce them just ask.

Alex Avila says Americanized "a-VEE-la" is correct pronunciation of his last name
Looks like it is you who is butchering Alex's name, not the announcers.

I didn't know that, thanks for the info. If he wants to mispronounce his name that's up to him. That still doesn't explain Perez.

Soft "d" sound where there's an "r." Emphasis on second syllable.

Damn, got schooled in the first reply.

All I want is for Perez to be pronounced correctly, like Sanchez and Lopez, it should be the same pronunciation.

Perez sounds nothing like Sanchez or Lopez. It starts with a p for god's sake.

I bet you're one of those douchebags who says Barthelona

I will now change my last name to Perez and pronounce it "Smith".

I was unaware that there was a city in France named Perez.

White people pissed because people who speak Spanish don't pronounce their names white.
These are the people who make fun of the SJWs.

Avila is a pretty common Spanish name. Everyone says it the same except for this clown baseball player. It's not "Americanized", it's incorrect.

How do you think Avila is supposed to be pronounced? Also Are your trying to say Perez is prounounced Paris? Because that's wrong too.
It's Pear-Ehs, or Pair-ehz if that looks more accurate. Often the "R" is prounounced as a "D." in South American countries.
