Has anybody seen Hurricane Season yet? The story on the John Ehret HS team that won the 5A Basketball title the year of Katrina? It is in blockbuster video now. Went straight to DVD because of lack of funds to put in theaters. It is a very good movie and Stars Forrest Whitaker as Coach Al Collins.

My cabbie one time was the father in law of the coach in real life. He told me to check it out but I forgot about the movie. I'll have to see whats up. Marrero in the hizzy.

It is a good movie. I think the way they portrayed Brian Randolph was a little off and the way they did the State Championship was terrible. Overall, the storyline was very good considering the budget. Lil Wayne is only in the movie for about 10 minutes total and Bow Wow is only in it for about the same time. Not big parts in it. The movie mostly talks about Coach Collins and Brian Randolph. I also think that they made a mistake on some of the players. They talked about a kid that transferred from Ehret to Woodlawn and he was their best player at Ehret, then at Woodlawn. Woodlawn's best players were all legit Baton Rouge kids except Courtney Wallace who was a BM kid not Ehret. Also, the real Brian Randolph and former BM player Ryan Brock are members of the Woodlawn team in the movie.

It was definitely the best move to put it to DVD off the bat instead of Theaters.
