what would the name be?? the threads about the MLS and MLB got me thinking.

Might as well call them the unicorns, because it'll never happen. They'll put teams back in Canada before they move down here.

the New Orleans Cheapskates

Without a doubt "Fightin' Crawfish"
and again I would support them as I did the ECHL team in Shreveport.

Tha hell?
N.O. ain't getting an NHL team either way. The NHL sunbelt trend was stupid, and seems all but dead -- for good reason.

Nawlins Not4Longs..aka Nawlins Flameouts(NHL in Atlanta Part Two)
But, it would be funny to see the Dale Brown they hire to go around the state handing out P&G nets and balls..IE..franchise colored pucks and cheap version hockey sticks and jerseys.

1) Pelicans (Atlanta uses their state bird)
2) Ice Gators (maybe too minor-leagueish)
3) Jazz (the Blues would be our big rival)
4) Crescents (vs. Dallas' Stars)
5) Black Bears (vs. Florida Panthers--Bruins might have it trademarked)
6) Thunder (vs. TB Lightning, again OKC trademark)
all I can think of for now...
ETA:
Drillers, Roughnecks or Crude, since that's all we'll have for the next ten years anyway.

Who's using the Pelicans? I know that was the old AA baseball team.

Tom Benson owns it, he bought the rights a few months before the Zephyrs came to town. It would have been for the AA team he was buying.
