Joins the deep south for having the most NFL players per capita. Lots of offensive linemen, tight ends, and linebackers coming from America's Heartland.

Kirk Ferentz refuses to throw a pass to a wide receiver. As a result, he’s the master at developing Tight Ends. Half the TEs in the NFL are former Hawkeyes.

Iowa loves to run the ball and play the field position game which is why you see a lot of 13-10 type games and a lot of punts.

Stop with the "per capita" garbage

It means jack squat in the scheme of things

It only means ‘jack squat’ if you don’t know what ‘per CAPITA’ means

Is this based on where the players were born? Where they came out of high school? What were the qualifications for NFL player? Just on a roster (Including training camp/preseason/practice squad)? Active on GameDay? Played a snap in a game?

Information is off tbh.

If you really wanna get technical about it,per participant is a much better indicator.

Do I need to explain it to you?

Whatever... spell check got me.

Per participant is still a much better indicator if it really means that much to you.

For the same reason Arkansas is labeled as Alaska.

He does have a point, but I’m not sure what level participation you measure it from. Florida is always going to struggle with its per capita because it typically has the highest average age of all US states.

This reminds me of polls that some companies will use to gauge the entire nation’s opinion of something but then you realize the sample size is like 500 people in a nation of 350 million.

Wisonsonians are cowards and won’t take back the portion of their state that Michigan stole from them. Be aide of that we are stealing their name and declaring them part of Illinois

Can take a sports graph seriously when the author can't even get multiple State abbreviations right.....something a 3rd Grader could do.

All I got from this list is Hawaii is WAY overrepresented considering their #41 population..... And of course California would be underrepresented when its population is more than Ohio, Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana and Wisconsin combined.

They’d sling it around if they could

But I think Iowa is represented because those dudes happen to be big… we not gonna look at these numbers and claim they got more talent than Texas. Texas and Florida are dragged down by Latino bloodlines who might as well play futbol since that’s their body types

Is the “per capita” based on just the males in the state? If not LA is even stronger
