He is a hedge fund manager from Pittsburgh and went to Pitt. He once owned a 5% stake in the Steelers. He bought the Panthers from Jerry Richardson in May 2018.

Carolina's overall record since 2018 is 31-70. Tepper is on his 4th head coach since taking over as the owner. The previous 5 years before Tepper owned the team, the Panthers made the playoffs 4 times and won the division 3 times. Tepper also owns the Charlotte FC soccer team and after 2 seasons don't have a winning record either.

Panthers record since Tepper bought the team:

2018 - 7-9

2019 - 5-11

2020 - 5-11

2021 - 5-12

2022 - 7-10

2023 - 2-15

2024 - 0-2

Surprised he hasn't gone the Jerry Jones route and named himself the GM

Rumor is that he IS the de facto GM, he's reportedly overruled decisions on draft day and made picks himself.

most NFL owners arent owners to win Super Bowls, its to increase wealth. Goodell has done a great job at making these owners a lot richer and their franchises more valuable. As a hedge fund manager and financial guy hes doing a great job.

Tepper seems to be the opposite issue. He's too involved and emotionally invested.

He's Dan Snyder without the sexual harassment and financial fraud.

I've obviously never met him, but he's supposed to be a first class a-hole and VERY difficult to work for.

Him and Dan Snyder are 1A and 1B.

Jimmy Haslam, the Browns owner, is right up there, also.

And the Rooneys kept him as far away from Latrobe as possible. They knew then this guy was bad news.

Specifically, Why is he the worst? He seems like a scum bag money.

The team has sucked but he’s not the GM or coach and I’m sure he WANTs to win.

He was mainly just a cheap frick.
