Is Paul Skenes the best pitcher in MLB already?

When looking at MLB pitching, you have a bunch of old guys, such as Verlander, Max, Sale, Wheeler, Cole, etc., who've had past success but not current success.
Out of all pitchers, Skenes has to be the best 27 starts, 2.12 ERA, 6.3 WAR, and averages 11.2k/9. Absolutely a beast in MLB already and only 22 years old

Hard to argue this. And in 3-4 years he will be pitching in a huge market contender making Soto look poor.

Yamamoto, Hunter Greene and Hunter Brown are pretty high up there.

As was his right and as most would've done. Besides, based on how things have been run the last few years in regards to the military, who could blame him? This mantra doesn't mean what it used to. Short of foreign or domestic invaders terrorizing my local area, frick fighting for this country. Not when we've got our own trying to minimize us from within.

That's BS and isn't fair to Skenes. He made a decision after his sophomore year in unprecedented times. He said it was a very emotional gut wrenching decision that he made. Our country will be fine, he is probably going to be a generational pitcher... he made the best decision for him. I say this as a veteran myself, the whole pat yourself on the back and I need you to kiss my feet are the worst kinds of veterans in today's age. This isn't Vietnam... nobody made anyone serve.

Yamamoto is 2 years older and 3.1 WAR
Greene is 2 years older and 10.6 WAR
Brown is 4 years older and 4.5 WAR
Skubal is 6 years older and 12.8 WAR
Skenes is 22 with 6.2 WAR already

If I needed just ONE win right now, I’d take Skubal…

Paul has been better since his debut

Not sure why the current age is relevant at all to the question you asked

What the hell does his ages have to do with any of this?

Younger and better than all mentioned, only going to get better

Very easily. Had he played at alabama the clowns on here would already be talking about goat status. Hes the best picher in the game right now. No doubt!
