There seems to be some confusion or a weird narrative going on here, so let me do my best to clear a few things up

-Would Tucker make the Astros 2025 team better? Of fricking course

-Is there any chance in hell the Astros were going to pay him what he is going to receive as a free agent? Of fricking course not

-With the previous point in mind, are Astros fans generally happy with the deal we made with Chicago? Absolutely

-Do Astros fans understand that the window of our incredible run is likely over and do we understand how rough the farm system looks? Absolutely. Which is why most level headed fans would make that Tucker deal again

If I told you that most Astros fans I’ve encountered (on this board and in real life) all agree with the above points for the most part….why exactly is everyone calling us delusional?

Personally I have zero negative feelings towards Tuck and wish him all the best going forward except when it’s against Houston. Same as Springer, Correa, Bregs, etc. will always be thankful for what they brought this franchise

I'll worry about the playoffs if and when, but the Cubs schedule to open the season is the toughest month of baseball any team will play this year - all year, and they are 15-10 and it largely because of Tucker and I'm loving it!!

Well, he's better than Vlad so if that's the way they measure these things - he should.

Nailed it. The Astros would definitely be better with Tucker this year. And still not World Series Championship team. I'm very pleased with what the Astros got in return for Tucker. Would have gotten nothing when he signs for well over $500M later this year. And I have no ill will towards Tucker. Except for hitting 0.150 in the 2023 playoffs.

Meanwhile the Astros change their uniforms every 5 years and play at stadium named after a juice box. Even after a dynasty run still have zero national following because they play in a shitty, boring, hot, wide as hell & with no public transportation city.

Now who’s mad

Holy shite, didn’t realize Astros fans were this butthurt lol. I thought they had accepted that the run was over and were ok with the long rebuild that’s about to happen. Be happy guys, you have Cam Smith. Too bad the Cubs had to give you the only prospect in the current system that will make an impact in MLB LOL

Funny thing. The Astros let George Springer, Carlos Correa and Gerrit Cole walk and won a World Series without them, 5 years after their first one.

But, cheer up, Cubs fans. You still have another 100 years before your current title drought is as long as the last one.

Was excited as hell when he was in the minors racking up some numbers. Once at Houston didn't set the world on fire but was trending up and his defense was above average. Then he gets hurt and stays hurt and his play-off numbers were abysmal. Wasn't a big fan to be honest. Kinda got tired of both him and Bregs.

I’ve ALWAYS said it wouldn’t hurt my feelings that he walked. Been a couple years now that I’ve been saying the same thing.

I know I’m in the minority, but I can’t stand his body language playing the game.

No emotion. Aloof. Facial expressions screams to me that he doesn’t care. Never seems to be putting out 100%.

Sure, he’s good. But I’ve complained about him for a few years now. Have fun with watching that dispassionate, apathetic, joyless zombie and especially when September and October rolls around.

OP doesn't seem to realize the Cubs got fleeced by Dana Brown, and the trade is working out for both teams already with the Astros starting to heat up. Cam Smith is a future star and has already replaced Tucker defensively in RF, but Chicago could afford to move him.

Oh and we replaced Bregman with Paredes, and Wesneski is already pitching better which no one should be surprised about.

Cause they’re in rebuild mode. Their fans just don’t know it yet,

uhhh, tell me you don't DAT without telling me you don't DAT.

we ALL know.

That is why we were not upset with the Tucker trade. it makes sense for a rebuild. the lost draft picks from the garbage can saga is now hitting the organization hard. that, and losing Jeff Luhnow.

Dude dragged his rehab out last year as long as he could. I appreciate his contributions before said injury including the 2023 regular season when he carried the offense for the most part but good riddance. Tucker is all about the money first, and losing an arbitration case doesn't make what he did okay.

Wait until he has his 7 times a season weekly slump.... he will pout, not hustle, throw helmets & bats, and act like an entitled little travel ball brat.

I can't say I ever saw him care that much

He's an odd dude

He has a history of missing multiple games for "sickness"

I think he suffers from some mental health issues on occasion, but he's a great player when he plays and it's not the playoffs.

He is destined to get overpaid by someone

lol. I was trying to think if another person named Ted or Williams, but couldn’t think of anyone good so I settled on “crap” instead.

When Tucker is struggling he has the facial expression and body language of a 16 year old who’s been told they’re grounded for the weekend.

He is immensely talented and I’d still have preferred to keep him, but Crane is never dishing out a contract like the one he’s going to receive. I’m skeptical the Ricketts will also but we will see. At this point I’d be stunned if he doesn’t hit the open market and they will be in line with everyone else.

I think the Astros did pretty well in the deal for a year of control of him
