Last 25 years of Sports Illustrated magazine - Worth Anything?

I inherited every issue of the last 25 years of Sports Illustrated. Are they worth anything? If so, what/how should I do with them?

Are they in good condition? The swinsuit issues aren't all stuck together and shite, right?

This makes them very rare. Noone has a clean copy of these!

Seriously. Search the old ones on Ebay and you'll get an idea of their worth. I don't think they are worth that much, especially within the last 10 years.

You can bring them to a dentists office, that's about the only place that keeps all those things

You'd be surprised. Back issue magazines actually sell pretty well. If you have the time you could sell these off individually for $3-$12 a piece. If you want to just unload them in a lot on ebay you'd probably get in the $125-200 range, maybe a little more if the condition is great and the collection is complete.

Championship issues might be worth something to fans of those teams.

i don't know how much they're worth, but I'd be interested in buying them if you can establish a value.

I bought a sports card cellection off of a guy and he gave me all his old sports illustrated for kids. The next week I watch a Outside the Lines that showed how Tiger Woods SI for Kids rc card sold for more money in a private auction than any other card in history. And that the magazine alone (at the time) sold in a auction for $10,000. The value has dropped now beause Tigers an idiot. But i'm hoping he breaks Jacks record so I can get a lil bit out of that magazine.

I have a bunch from the 70's. I have Walter Peyton's first cover. But since its not signed, its worth about $10. I found if they are not signed by who is on the cover they aren't worth much. Except my 1970 Steve Prefontaine cover which is worth about $200 unsigned.

That puts you back into what... 85ish?
Not really worth much, to be honest.
If they have address labels, it diminishes the value.
Looking at completed auctions will give you your best idea of "worth."
This one, with label went for $16.95:
This one, for about $15:
This one, with label for $12:
Tiger's first cover goes for $20ish, Yankees stuff will probably sell, etc.
Depending on condition, you may be able to make some money, but I'd do your research first, because a lot of them may not be worth the hassle.

Why is the Prefontaine one so much?

I used to have this one, disappeared during a move or something, only SI to have no description on the outside, just the cover pic and the Banner

I'd be interested in some of the college football/basketball ones if you are trying to sell.

Depends on condition too. I have a collection since 1971 and sold 1971 through 1991 (1,000+ issues)to a collector in Richmond VA for $250 a few years back, after keeping about 5 favorites for myself. I would take them to two collectors and take the best offer. Too big a hassle to sell individual copies and too heavy to carry them around in boxes. A few select issues though could fetch $5-$10 apiece, but not worth the effort imo.
