Anyone know the status of spring sports?

Reports are that once the basketball championship games are done over the weekend, all spring sports will be suspended for a period of time.

Wouldn’t basketball be a bit easier to contract stuff than baseball and other spring sports.
I mean I get there are just a few championship games left.

My son had a hs baseball game tonight and after it was over their coaches told them Saturday will be their last games. I talked to a parent who has a kid in another district and their son was told the same. Really sucks for the kids. Especially the seniors.

Not a school decision. They said it’s not 100% final but from what they said this weekend will be it for all hs athletics in La.

Schools and sports will probably be suspended for a couple weeks starting on Monday

Meeting at 8:00 tomorrow morning, announcement to be made at 10:00. Coaches don't sound to optimistic. Highly likely 2 week suspension minimum. Sounding like schools will probably have a 2 week off period as well. Most schools have spring break coming up week soon too.

Our guy who assigns the umpires for the New Orleans area just sent us an email that said " I fully expect the LHSAA to make decisions that will affect the 2020 baseball season. As soon as I get instructed on what my course of action should be, I will notify the association."
