Is it predominantly a mix of Astros, Braves (TBS), and Cubs (WGN) fans throughout the state?
I’m surprised that you don’t see more Cardinals fans since KMOX can be picked up clearly pretty much throughout the country.
Also, you’d think you would see more Rangers fans, especially in northwestern Louisiana due to their proximity to DFW.

Everyone became an Astros fan because of Bregman.

False, I became a fan in the early 90s.

Grew up watching the Cubs on WGN and the Braves on TBS...but raised a Yankees fan because they were my dad's favorite team when he was growing up and he could catch them on the radio in New Orleans.

Older guys like me have an affection for the Cardinals.

My dad is a Cardinals fan but I preferred the Braves

My dad took me on annual trips to Houston to watch games when I was a kid. Now I take him each summer.
Astros are a sentimental favorite of mine.
But nothing could quite top Harry Caray and Steve Stone on a late afternoon WGN broadcast.

Been a Stros fan since I was a kid when we would visit my uncle in Houston and go to NASA, the Galleria, Minute Maid and other spots. Always enjoyed those visits.

Bregman and the team becoming good definitely helped fill the bandwagon though

There have always been lots of Astros fans here. It’s the closest team for the majority of the state.

I know. I just love to hate on the team and fanbase. The Zephyrs also fed Houston in the 90’s and 00’s.

Mets fan since I was 10 (1986). Watched the World Series on TV as my first exposure to MLB. We had a minor league team here but dearly went til I was older. Mets won the WS, kept following them through Middle School and things just stuck. Been suffering ever since. Between them and the Saints it’s been rough through the years.

TBS and WGN is the answer.
I never really liked baseball, but I rooted for Boston because I liked the Celtics, and my grandmother was from Boston (complete with accent).

This. Became a fan growing up getting to take trips from BR to Houston for a series or 2 every year. Killer B’s era. Watching games on Fox Sports Southwest helped to keep the fire burning. Guys like Bregman were just cherry on top later on, but suffered through some bad 100+ loss years between then. The Carlos Lee, Wandy Rodriguez, Kaz Matsui years were brutal (still love Wandy)
People around me rooted for either Astros, Braves, Cubs, Cardinals, Rangers or Yankees in that order (although majority were very casual “fans” so it usually depended on who was good at the time. Houston being by far the closest in proximity (to Baton Rouge) has always made most sense to me but Braves were certainly the 2nd most popular among baseball fans I grew up with.

My 91 year old dad was always a Cardinals fan, back when he was young they used to get Cardinals games on the radio he said. We used to go to a series every summer when I was a kid.
I grew up listening to the Astro games on the radio, but my favorite team was the Baltimore Orioles. Brooks Robinson was my favorite player and they had Frank Robinson, Boog Powell, Mark Belanger and of course Earl Weaver as Manager.
