On one hand this board calls him a pretentious douche but on the other hand let’s not mention that he’s a poor kid who’s parents worked double shifts at bars and factories so their kid could become a pro. It’s a cool story and I like it. Not even a giant Rory fan (not really one at all)

Mentioning it is fine, I get it. But is was talked about an awkwardly often coming down the stretch. And the dude was being flown around the world as a prodigy by the time he was a preteen.

I’m happy for him his parents love him, it was just weird man

How’d all the LIV golfers do this Masters?

They did go a little overboard with his upbringing, but like it or not history was made today and CBS milked it… like I’ve said, I didn’t really care who won today. It was great drama and some pretty exciting moments. That’s why I enjoy watching it.

The thing I don’t like about Rory was how he took a holier than thou stance against LIV and then as soon as the merger came out he was like all those guys are cool and LiV is cool now

But he is a great golfer

It was dramatic which was fun to watch. A man won the grand slam today and for those that track golf know that’s pretty incredible

BS he got fricked in that situation.

He stood his ground for the PGA Tour and the Tour made him and others that stood against Saudi bought league look like assholes when they gave in.

If we are being honest…

He certainly inserted himself in that situation and ended up making an arse of himself. I don’t even really give a shite about that, I just thought he was a mental midget on the course. And for more than a decade he was

I agree here. LIV is dirty pool. Rory stood his ground as did other players. Good for them.

I was never a Tiger Woods fan. I just wasn't, would pull for the competitors to beat him. I was disappointed a lot.

But watching Rory the last 10 years only adds to the legend of Tiger. When Tiger started winning majors he never slowed down. Tiger never blew leads (until YE Yang but that was after what, 14 majors won?). Tiger choked the life out of tournaments. When he grabbed a lead during the weekend of a tournament the entire field knew it was over. Golf isn't supposed to be that easy. Rory has been the best golfer of the last 15 years. Scottie may have finally taken that current title, but it's not like Rory hasn't been winning tournaments. He wins a lot of them. He wins big tournaments. It's not like he disappears in majors. He is seemingly alwasy in the top 10. He just has not been able to finish them for the last 10 years.

To see him finally get that monkey off his back, after so many dissapoinments over the last 10 years, was an amazing thing. Anyone that can't look fondly at him collapsing on the green to have finally completed that grand slam is just talking foolishly.

I wouldn't be surprised if he goes on another run and wins 2 more out of the next 8.

Scottie left there with the quickness

I’ve noticed the last couple of years, the winner slides the jacket on and gets out of the way…no handshake even (although maybe they exchange pleasantries before the cameras roll) Wouldn’t be surprised if Augusta dictates what the previous champ is supposed to do with their picky decorum rules.

Scottie is by all accounts a very good person.

Rory doesn’t seem to be well liked by his peers.

BS. Those with majors and the most popular were prompted to give an opinion on the topic and those leaving the Tour. Same with Tiger, Scheffler, etc

Funny I don’t see people calling out Scotty for fricking with Cam Smith on the green after announcing Smith was going to LIV.

Glad Rory won.
Hate to see Dbro struggle, but we can’t have any LIV trash winning

And many of them were MUCH more diplomatic or answered without saying anything. Rory went out of his way to give his opinion and then waffled back and forth a half dozen times.

Again, I don’t even really give a shite, but it was a tough look and pretty lame

Scottie is a great guy. Not sure how liked Rory is by his peers but I still don’t understand you hate for him. Has he broke any laws??? Does he drink to much??? Does he do drugs??? Is he a thief??? You mad because he stood his ground against the liv stuff???? Or are you just mad because he is from another country???
