Eddie Feigner, a famous softball player and the founder of the "King and His Court" 4-man softball team is supposed to have been clocked at 104 miles per hour. In a game against Major Leaguers ballplayers, Eddie Feigner struck out, Willie Mays, Roberto Clemente, Brooks Robinson Willie McCovey, Maurey Wills, and Harmon Killebrew all in a row.|||The world's fastest softball pitch was pitched by Bobby Spell, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, in 1955, on the campus of LSU, clocked by the Army at 126 mph. This is certified.

Bobby Spell was the most dominating pitcher. Hard to believe he could pitch as fast as he did.

I saw him numerous times as a kid and considering he was from Lake Charles
Once he went to play for Clearwater Bombers didn't see him as much

My Dad sponsored and coached a team consisting of players from Allen and Rapides parish… mostly before my time. I've heard lots of stories but was too young to remember.

I can't remember the name of the team. They played out of Oakdale. Your Dad would have known mine I'm sure.

There used to be high schools in Missouri as of two years ago that had men's softball in replacement of football. There was like 10 schools or something. Very small towns. I think they all switched to baseball now. I don't know what the holdup was, guess they didn't have money at the time to get proper fields for baseball.
Any other states have men's softball in high school?
