Unknown returning starter was offered that sum to transfer to another school during open transfer.

Thats where we are these days with college football until things change.

Meanwhile ncaa is powerless to put a cap on the madness. Mostly because they’re incompetent and only go after people who make them mad.

I’m against it, but there is also no way to cap it. It almost has to be completely legal or illegal.

People will always cheat, which is why the NCAA always seemed so petty, because they were steady closing loopholes.

Won’t be long till we are paying Taylor swift concert prices to go see a football game

Not sure what’s worse. The NIL or the border clusterfrick

True but they could go after these people who are tampering with players not in portal.

Pretty sure Drake Maye was never in portal & got offers. A lot of things they need to fix with NIL

It’s the free market. Don’t pay and the prices will go down

Donovan Edwards. He's been overshadowed by Corum, but he's a great talent

I mean none of the pro sports have a cap on what NIL is supposed to be, which is endorsements and autograph signing, etc. In theory NIL was supposed to be nothing more. The issue is, the boosters that were paying players behind the scenes before NIL are the ones that have the businesses that can issue these endorsements, so now it simply gave them an above-board avenue to do what they've always been doing. Anyone with a brain saw this coming when NIL was conceived in the courts.

The only way player payments can be capped is through revenue sharing. But even with revenue sharing, it's not like NIL will go away, players will still attract endorsements from big money boosters to play for their team outside of any salary that might come from revenue sharing. I don't see that ever becoming against the rules ever again thanks to the courts.

The cat's out of the bag and used its claws to shred the bag so it can never be put back in. CFB as we knew it up until a couple of years ago is gone and is never coming back.

I think any reform efforts are better targeted towards the transfer portal than NIL. That's something that I think can more realistically be fixed.

I’m willing to bet it’s bullshite. Even if it was legitimate it’s probably one of those “worth up to $X” situations in which case there is little to no possible way the player obtains anywhere near the full advertised number.

He’s just fast. If he doesn’t have a wide open hole to run through, he’s a shite RB. He had a god awful season outside of the NCG.
