Only 6 more years on his contract

poor bastard just can't stay healthy
Posted on 8/1/24 at 4:55 pm to Lsuhoohoo
Did anybody know he was playing anyway? Dude's career kinda doesn't matter anymore.

He should have borrowed a meniscus from his interpreter.
Posted on 8/1/24 at 4:59 pm to Lsuhoohoo
I've literally never seen him play

The Angels are once again buried in the standings, so there is no need to rush him back.
However, I wonder how much of his knee is shredded. He should be able to come back before Labor Day and at least be able to DH the rest of the season, but if there’s little left of his meniscus and it’s not a routine surgery or rehab, It could impact the rest of his career.

He can come back and be slugger. thats it. multiple injuries like that and old boys days of running like a gazelle are behind him.

He needs to retire, Griffey Jr ending where people start to forget how great he was

Given how much time he has missed I would be interested in seeing the Angels record when he is in the lineup versus when he is not just to put the coveted WAR stat to the test. Is this dude really worth an extra 10-12 wins a season.
I know, I know... don't flip out nerds. I understand advanced metrics. I just want to compare the record to the acronym for fun's sake.

what a shame. the least important superstar/lock HOF of all time

Him and his contract have somewhat put the Angels in perpetual purgatory.

They need to move him to DH or 1B for the rest of his career
Posted on 8/1/24 at 5:49 pm to Lsuhoohoo
do people still think he's better than griffey jr?

Trout:
86.1 WAR
1648 hits
378 home runs
311 doubles
54 triples
212 stolen bases
.299/.410/.581/.991 OPS
Vs
83.8 WAR
2781 hits
630 home runs
524 doubles
34 triples
184 stolen bases
.284/.370/.538/.907 OPS
Griffey made it 22 seasons, Trout is in year 14. Griffey played 100+ 17 times in his career, Trout has played 100+ 11 times in his career (had Covid been a full season he was projected to play 100)

He is almost a mirror image of Griffey. How much money have the Angels burned on huge contracts the last dozen years with almost no return on investment?

Dude is ALWAYS hurt.
They should hang a banner for each season he is oot for the remainder of the season.
