The quietest hall of fame career

It’s like he’s playing in the 1910’s in term of exposure

It’s crazy how trout re-injures his repaired meniscus in rehab, yet Novak Djokavic is playing a major tennis tournament 4 weeks after getting his fixed. Some people’s bodies just don’t cooperate.

I have no idea what the hyphenated numbers represent.

Explain this to me like I’m Mike Trout’s lower back.

I know Trout is a warrior and probably more frustrated than anyone else about the missed games…that said… might be time for the Angels to figure out an exit strategy for him.

1648 hits
378 home runs
311 doubles
54 triples
212 stolen bases
.299/.410/.581/.991 OPS

This is HOF worthy?
His stats through 14 years are slightly better than David Justice's 14 year career, or Mark Texiera's 14 year career, who hit 409 homers, or Albert Belle's 12 year career, or Lance Berkman's 15 year career, and none of those guys are Hall of Famers. Adam Dunn played 14 years, doesn't have those averages, but hit 462 homers. Also not in the Hall of Fame.

14 years and only once has he played in the postseason, where he went 1-12.

Only 6 more years on his contract

For all the grousing about how much NFL and NBA players get paid, MLB contracts surpass them all by a mile in terms of absurdity.

Justice 40.6 WAR
Texeria 50.6 WAR
Dunn 17.8 WAR
Berkman 51.9 WAR
Belle 40.1 WAR

Is WAR the only stat that matters?

If Trout didn't play another game in the MLB, is he a Hall of Famer?

Is Paul Goldschmidt going to make the Hall of Fame?
He and Trout entered the league at the same time.
WAR 62.3
HR 357
Doubles 430
Triples 22
BA .289
OBP .383
SLG .512
OPS .895

The fact that Trout has been so much better compared to his peers vs those other players it is a good measurement.
