In the 2025 NBA season, the teams with the highest TV ratings likely included the Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors, Boston Celtics, and New York Knicks. These teams consistently received the most nationally televised games, aired on ESPN, ABC, TNT, and NBA TV, as per Sports Illustrated. Other teams like the Thunder, Rockets, and Celtics also saw significant increases in viewership, particularly on their regional sports networks

Is it because they have the most fans/interest? Or is it because they are just on TV(being pushed) more?

So they've found a new bottom, 2% lower than last years bottom. At some point they'll stop dropping cause there's no where left to go.

Let's see the last 20 years to compare.

So now down close to 15% since 2022

They need to shorten the season. Start on XMAS Eve or Day and do less games like 3 that day.

Move the all star game to the weekend before the Finals start. Offer 10mil to the Slam Dunk winner

Try to compete with NYE and NYD games. CFB is getting slightly lamer with the playoffs.

Nix the mid season tournament and those color courts.
That could be a start

Sports in general aren’t as good as they once were. NBA games are hard to watch, but so is everything else, except for hockey.

As much as I was devastated by it, and it made me watch the NBA less, I would guess that the Luka trade reinvigorated a lot of fans’ interest in the season.

The NBA is no longer physical. It’s just a bunch of dudes running around shooting three-point shots

Viewership is up as a percentage of total live tv audience

Weve went from 100+ million people watching live prime time tv to under 65 million and nba viewership has barely dropped from peak and remained the same over 20 years

Go woke, go broke was always stupid.
People that thought they were gonna take down the NFL with their boycotts were delusional.

But it is funny that you get mad now that people point out how stupid it was and don't wanna hear about it.

Are these worldwide numbers or just viewership within the United States?

Not all ratings drops are equal.

NFL was down 2% from after a decade of rising.
that 2% drop was still above the ratings for any of the 9 years prior to 2023.
Meaning 2024 was the second strongest year of the last decade

NBA's 2% drop was from the previous record for the lowest ratings in league history.
Creating a new lowest rating in league history.
