Zephyrs were also the Brewers, Astros, Nationals, and Mets

The less stupidly named New Orleans Zephyrs were the Astros AAA team, so only one team for the TD to pull for

Lou found possibly the only name dumber than fricking “Baby Cakes” when moving them here then died before they could play a game leaving us with shitty ownership. What a son of a gun.

Marlins had them more recently though is the point I should’ve addressed.

Are you very young?
When they moved here from Denver and the first 5 years or so they were here they were the Brewers AAA

I'm 30, so no yeah I don't remember them before the Astros being affiliated with that. Partially why I became an Astros fan to begin with.

Will NOLA ever get MiLB back? Do they even want to have a team?

Maybe. When MLB took over MiLB, the number of minor-league teams was cut back, so there's not as many now - plus there are now new facility standards, so it would probably take some renovating of Zephyr Field to get it up to snuff for a team.
There was talk of bringing in a Double-A team after the Cakes left, but that was before the MiLB contraction.
ETA: here's a new summer collegiate-league planned for 2024 that says they'll play in Louisiana - maybe NOLA? Maybe Shreverport?

If Nola was ever to get a MiLB Team back it should be Double A. That would create some good rivalries with Biloxi and Pensacola. Revamp the Shrine down to the level, seating wise similar to Biloxi and Pensacola.
