On this day 17 years ago, Appalachian State “stunned the college football world”

Holy shite, we’re old.

I was walking through the old tailgating area by the old tennis courts towards JHS to watch Josh Freeman and Jordy Nelson carve up the AU defense on short crossing routes all evening and stopped to watch the final play on a TV that was set up on an RV.

The place went nuts in sporadic groups since all the satellite tvs and radios around the tailgate weren't really synched up.

Its the rare rare game where the massive underdog doesn't shrink and flub the upset at the end.

Totally outplayed Michigan all day but gave up that desperation bomb to Manningham with 6 seconds left to set-up Michigan's makeable winning FG.
