Someone explain to me like I’m 5…. Why can I watch the Super Bowl and World Series…. But I have to pay extra to
Watch people I have never heard of fight?

It seems that UFC has a heavy following and would be able to create marketing and enough revenue to just show these fights on cable…

Why have these fights always been a specific charge to watch? It makes me hate the sport.

I guess because UFC doesn’t have a media rights deal for $110 billion over 11 years on the major networks

Wouldn’t they be better off being a nationally featured event?

Danilos response answered your question. If boxing or UFC had multi billion dollar contracts to show their sport on regular TV, they would.

Why would he want some stupid woke media executive trying to dictate how his shows are run?

If you’re a fan and they’re fighting on pay per view, you’ve heard of them

Because no major network can sell ads to pay for it, so you have to if you want to see it.

I pay for a few cards a year. Another issue with UFC is unlike NBA NFL MLB, they don't have the ability to sell a lot of branded merchandise, clothes, toys, etc. You don't see a lot of 40 year olds wearing a Connor Mcgregor shirt but they will pay $150 for a Joe Burrow jersey. Just not a lot of additional sales outside the tickets and the PPV revenue streams.

Only once. Watched Anderson Silva front kick some dude who was a big name but it escapes me.

For the price of PPV I can have a nice time at a sports bar.

In the late 70's and early 80's boxing used to put fights you didn't mind paying for on PPV. You had to have one of those big satellite dishes to get the big fights. I had a buddy who's family had chicken houses back in the "After seven years they are paid for" days of having them. They had a dish. Pretty sure I watched two Ali fights out there on their dish. They just asked you to bring beer and snacks.

don’t most bars charge extra to get in if they’re showing a fight? I remember crowding around a window for a shitty view of Mayweather and Pacquiao in downtown NOLA

I'll pay for boxing PPV with heavyweight fights on them, but anything else, I'll just catch the highlights on YouTube.

The Saudis are the first people to have PPV worthy cards in a while, so I don't mind spending on those.
