Ranking 1000 high school teams for a preseason list sounds like something they give for community service when you have 12 hours left and they have run out of grass to cut.

What a waste of time and energy. Just let me serve the reminder of my time in a cell in peace and am still grasping onto my self respect.

In other words, this whole exercise is hilarious and I like football.

Unless you’re a kid or affiliated with a ranked school. I imagine the teams and players love the rankings… I remember looking up to see if my high school team was ranked in the top 10 each weeks classification ranking back in the day. It was exciting and fun, you know ..part of the whole reason we played..

There are a lot of other LA schools I’d put in to represent LA in the 300-1000 category, than what they have.

How did Mater Dei end up number 1 last year with a 28-0 loss, especially when there are undefeated teams with equally impressive schedules?

Strange seeing Evangel on any type of LA/National ranking.

Whereas for the longest, it was strange to NOT see them ranked…

It’s fun to talk about the teams not ranked that deserve to be, or the teams ranked that didn’t deserve it

I suppose, but do they not realize it’s meaningless because there’s no way to even remotely gauge even a modicum of accuracy?

They don’t have to be that accurate when there’s playoffs at the end…

I should have clarified that I meant national rankings are dumb.

All private schools which recruit from others. Especially IMG.

The highest-ranked public school is DeSoto (TX) at #6. Their arch-rival Duncanville is #9.
