Roland Garros ticket strategy question...

Thought maybe someone on here might have some personal experience tips re sources for a very specific day. My son's 18 b'day is June 6 and we will be in Paris. Was thinking about going to Rolland Garros on that day.
That is scheduled to be a QF day. Seems to me that grounds passes for that day wouldn't be of much use as the action for singles would be on Langlen and Chartrier. Should I try to go through a tennis tour company and just pay a premium for a "sure thing" ticket, or is there another avenue? All kind of stuff comes up on google, but thought I might luck out and catch a poster here who has done this deal and has a specific recommendation. Thanks in advance for any info.

You need to buy them direct from Roland garros. They start selling at specific time and you wait in the queue. Have a plan for what days/ courts you want to do before the queue. This is assuming the queue hasn’t happened yet

Best I can tell it opens Mar 15 for general public - so I suppose it'll be like any event ticket sales situation, just plan to get on at opening time and hope for the best?

Yes. Keep in mind it starts at Paris time so you will have to get on at like 2am central time. Go ahead and create your Roland garros account and get a payment card on file so that will all be stored when you buy. Just an FYI, the earlier rounds are way more fun than the later rounds so if you can, try to go earlier than the QF

Assuming one of my buddies makes the quarters(I would say 65% chance or greater), I can get you grounds passes that day for free, and potentially all access passes(to lockeroom and free food etc)
Unfortunately it’s not something you can lock in now
Email me at my username @ yahoo.com if you are interested. They are happy to help out lsu fans and have them watch

If he was one of my buddies I would put the odds higher than 65%

Yeah, I lucked out and my brother got them in the middle of the night like ten years ago. We were on Lenglen the first day of the second round, then Chatrier the next day. I think second/third round is the sweet spot to see a major with action all over the grounds. But, you can't underestimate the value of the roof at whatever venue you go. I can't imagine traveling to a major and having my session wiped out.

Outer courts is where it is at during the first week of Roland Garros. Walk around with the French and euros. Don’t get stuck sitting in one of the stadiums for long. The last weekend is always what many want but remember you only get a couple matches.

My buddy was an expat in France when i went and he was able to get early access using by being a member of the French version of the USTA. Not sure if thats viable option if you don't live there.
