SeatGeek - rainout - refund question

Looking at hitting a MLB Game in Minnesota next month during a family visit there. Want to take the wife and kids to a Twins game. Our only option to attend a game is one night - so we don't have much flexibility
I read where SeatGeek won't refund you if your event is "postponed" due to weather - anyone have any experience in this?
If that is the case I guess I won't buy tickets until a few days before the game until I can feel confident about the weather forecast

they probably give you credit to choose another game. that said, the Twins suck arse so I'd just buy the day of the game and you'll probably get a better deal and know whether or not they're going to play.

The ticket insurance option they give you doesn’t cover this? I haven’t used seatgeek or one those same companies in a while

THIS!!!
For a game that will not be a sellout (or anything close) -- like a night game for the Twins -- buy your tickets about an hour (or less) before the game.
You will have plenty of choices.
The day of the event, the sellers will start lowering their prices. A few hours before the event, they will lower the prices even further with the thought of just getting rid of them and getting back as much of their money as the can.
About 1/2 hour to an hour before, it will be a fire sale and the sellers will be looking to get ANYTHING back.
This pretty much works for just about any sporting event that isn't a HUGE playoff/championship game in a MAJOR city where the sports team has a major following, e.g., Lakers, Yankees, Red Sox, etc.
I think VISA runs an ad showing a girl getting $50+ tickets for about $6 right at 15 minutes before the game. That REALLY happens.

Wait until first pitch is thrown and you can get any seats you want for practically nothing.
I wait until kickoff and get lower level CFB and NFL tix for $5-10.

SeatGeek has awful customer service, so I would just buy an hour or so before the game.
Last time I used SeatGeek, ticket was no good. I called, waited on hold for an hour, and while I did end up getting into the game half way into, no compensation at all. But yet I had to pay the normal price.
Will never use again.

If I were with a good friend, and I just needed two tickets for the two of us, I would do exactly that. But if I’m with my family and need 4-8 tickets together, I’d start looking in earnest about a half hour before. You can get a good enough deal 15-30 minutes before first pitch and you won’t have to be rushing your family into your seats.

I went to some boring arse astros game the other night and got awesome seats for like $50 an hour before the game. Left about half way because baseball is just terrible to watch.
