For comparison, in 2017, average of “best runs”:

Dude is a freak.
Power to hit 450 foot bombs
Speed to keep pace with the fastest in the game
Double digit strikeout stuff on the mound
I just hope he can hold up to the physical demands of doing both jobs.

Why did he choose the Angels?

The Angels are going to have to plan ahead to make sure he's pitching in any NL-park interleague series.
If he's not, that's a real waste.

His AL MVP odds were +10,000 before the season. +150 as of Wednesday.

Did not expect him to be that fast..I still don't see him stealing much because of injury risk but damn..thats impressive...
as for choosing the Angels..I think for a few reasons..West Coast and therefore closest to Japan, all of his games will be televised there..and looking at the history of Japanese born players in the MLB the Angels don't have that iconic Japanese player to live up to, he can become his own legacy..Ichiro is Mariners..Nomo was Dodgers..I know the Padres, Giants, or Athletics don't have an iconic japanese player but of those four left, the Angels have the most promise..Not to mention the Los Angeles market to make money while he's still on his rookie contract and the asian population there..
ETA: And yes, the DH factor

Plus he couldn't DH for the Padres or Giants.
Doubt he sees much OF action because of the injury risk, plus just more wear and tear between starts.
