Group of friends and I are headed to the NASCAR races at Talladega this weekend. You have the option to buy individual tickets for each race, or a weekend pass at a discount that gets you into the events on both Saturday and Sunday. Given that we are camping there overnight, we chose the latter.
Under the Stubhub listing for the weekend pass, I found what I thought was a good deal, and pulled the trigger on 4 tickets under the assumption that I would have recourse if there were any issues, given that SH supposedly has this "100% fan guarantee." I only get sent tickets for one of the 3 races during the weekend. Wait a day, no sign of the others.
The Stubhub customer service chat reps give me no assistance whatsoever, other than "we're working on contacting the seller." So I call Talladega, and the rep there says that the seller's Ticketmaster account only has possession of Saturday's tickets, and the exact seats for the Sunday race are sold to someone else. He also says that the seller's email is invalid, the address is listed as the track's address, and that his/her IP address traces to India.
I then call Stubhub with this information and they proceed to tell me tough shite, we can't do anything because you technically received a ticket. No attempt to resolve or compensate for my time wasted.
I'm wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience. Definitely won't be using them anymore.

With damn near all of those being electronic these days, that's pretty surprising.

That’s the excellent service you get when you pay 30 percent service fees for every ticket bought ever

I feel like there have been a million nightmare stories like this about Stubhub. I used them a few times about 10 years ago, but have been scared off.
I had a good experience with Seatgeek for the national championship game last year and have heard mostly good things about them. I know the mgoblog site pimps tickpick really hard.

Didn't read, won't read.
But upvoted and agreed.

I basically stopped going to events. Even buying first hand the companies charge outrageous convenience fees on top of the r ticket.
I lost it when LSU got into bed with them years ago and realized they could get a cut of the fees from them. LSU was encouraging me to sell every ticket I bought from them because they got a cut from each transaction. frick the fans.

StubHub and SeatGeek can frick off. I will do business with TickPick until the first two that I mentioned get off of their ridiculous fees.
Tried to buy for an Astros for a game coming up. $59 is the list price. I expected about $20 in normal bullshite fees, which I got. But also--they put an extra $20 fee that said some shite like "fee so that we can continue to provide you an optimal and safe buying experience."
So they were wanting $40 in fees on top of a $59 ticket. That is where I drew the line. I don't care if they are selling tickets to Heaven, I am not paying a 70% fee.

All the apps are the same and equally arse. Illusion of market choice.

I've found that the least arse app is Gametime.
But yes, they can all frick right off. Especially StubHub.

Only time I've been scammed was on SeaGeek. They did at least offer a refund and extra $100 credit.
Used Gametime for P12 title game tickets a few years back and was fine. They are least give all-in pricing.
They are all basically the same though.

I just don't want to get screwed out of receiving the actual ticket. I am willing to overpay for events in rare instances.

Yes, I have had a recent issue that went unresolved and will save me plenty money in the future
I will never use SH or SG again
I was outright robbed. Not wasting time with the details

Stubhub is awful. It was good until Covid.

Gametime is easier to navigate but sucks on pricing as they all do. I do like seeing the zone “deals”

Put up some tickets on stubhub a few years ago and accidentally posted them twice at face value within seconds. Both were purchased in under a minute. I was told that rather than canceling one of the two transactions, I owed stubhub the money. Basically, I ended up giving tickets away for free.
I’ll never use them again as a buyer or seller

Stubhub’s customer service person is usually a person with a dot on their head.

Ultimately all owned by the same people.

We bought 4 tickets to a spurs game last year. My boss mentioned that he had WAAAAYY better seats and gave them to me. I think we spent $400 (including fees) We relisted them on SH for $50 more per ticket. They were sold within a day. StubHub gave us $70 after their fees.
TL;DR
Spent $400 on tickets.
Relisted at $600
Sold
Received $70 back.
