The 2018-19 Saints team that got fricked by the officials against the Rams. The same Rams that went on to lose 3-13 in the Super Bowl.

I think we would have had a good shot at winning the championship if we'd been given the rematch against Bama in 2020.

Based on what?

Going even further if 2012 LSU had beat bama and won the sec they also easily win a nc.

Getting by UGA would have been no easy task. Those two teams with nearly the same rosters played the following season in what was a great but seemingly forgotten game in Athens.

Would have put up a better fight than the Patriots but they would not have beaten the Bears again when it’s not at home at night

If we're including NFL, then I'll add 1996 Broncos, 1998 Vikings, and 1999 Jaguars.

I'm as big of a Dolphins fan as there is, and I don't think we beat the '85 Bears twice. Even with the greatest QB to ever step on the field.

I think about this sometimes as an alternative reality .

If the wind blows 1mph during the OSU/ISU game, OSU makes the FG and wins, we play them in the NCG, we win. Fast forward, we go for it on 4th down in the Bama game, get it, go on to back to back NCs; Miles may coach here till he’s 70!

The 95 niners would have blown the doors off that Steelers team.

Too bad they didn’t beat the Packers who lost to Dallas in the NFCCG. However GB probably beats Pittsburgh

If Georgia would have made the playoffs last year, they would have made it 3 in a row,
And everyone knows it. Getting tossed from #1 to #5 after losing to Bama, barely, is fricking stupid.

I can’t be the only one who wonders how the SEC championship works this year, or why the game is even held, besides money, with the new structure without divisions

2012 LSU/UGA would have been the defacto title.

One more 1st down Les… Mett/Landry/OBJ were unstoppable that night.

2012 UF had a shot until Jarvis Jones forced that fumble on Jordan Reed

Well it has to be the 1987 Niners and the greatest playoff upset at home against the Vikings. Niners were #1 in points, #3 points against. No team has ever been in the top 3 in both and NOT won the Super Bowl....except the 1987 Niners. Niners were 13-2 and set all these records. The Redskins caught a break. Nines just had a bad day against Minny, fumbles, QB hurt, sloppy play. They whip the Redskins and then demolish the Broncos in the Super Boal. Niners should have 3 Lombard's in a row, 1987, 1988, 1989. The owner almost fired Bill Walsh immediately after the loss to the Vikings in the locker room but his aide talked him out of it.

That 87 team was the best of the three. Not only did the Vikings beat them they destroyed them. Just one of those days.

Money is the only reason CCG ever existed. Under the new playoff format you are better off not playing in it. The team in the 5 seed that misses the CCG has the best spot. They will play the same number of games as the teams that win their CCG and get a home game. Sooner or later some key player could get hurt and miss the playoffs. Teams that miss it get a week off sooner and the coaches can spend time recruiting vs prepping for a game that amounts to an exhibition.
