plans to sign with Tennessee after transferring to UCLA from App. State in the winter portal

That shite has got to go.

Some semblance of commitment, waiting period, sit-out, ironclad agreement..... Something, something to form a structure, roadmap, ahem....rules that require some sort of fidelity and normalcy....

Who wants to follow a team with fidelity when EVERY player is just a rolling stone with no direction home.

Damn UCLA and UTs admissions working overtime to get these "student" athletes in. I bet if actual students sued for (make up something), and were able to get details on the admissions process, it would not be like other students.

Just drop the student piece and make these programs semi-pro already.

Tennessee will have a better season than UCLA and Iamaleava's draft stock will take a hit by going to UCLA. Maybe his daddy will learn a lesson or two from this, but I doubt it.

I agree with you, but with the little bro heading to UCLA, sounds more like trade to UT. One they had to take either way, cause both Aguilar and UT were screwed. So they can only hope it pans out better for both.

I saw Arky's NIL collective is supposedly considering legal action against the little brother for breach of contract. That would really make this whole thing even more interesting.

Since NIL deals can't be tied to pay for play (wink wink), I'm guessing that his deal with the NIL collective included requirements for him to make personal appearances at events that would now be impossible for him to fulfill since he's halfway across the country. Guessing they're going to try to claw back any upfront payments they made to the little brother.

Wait? The brother's name is "Madden"? I guess it makes sense. There's a third brother that plays basketball and his name is NBA2K Iamaleava.

Spot on.

It’s also never a good sign that a player you’re after transferred high schools so frequently. That mainly pertains to basketball players, but holds true for football players that have done the same.

From making $2M/yr in Tenn where taxes are low and the $ goes a long way to $1.5M which is just above minimum wage in CA. What a great business move by Nico.
They had to go get his little brother so Nico and him could split rent on a decent apartment out there.

A buddy of mine coached his son's non-select soccer team. They had a kid who eventually made the US under 14 team. The select team his kid played with, when they got old enough, hired him as a recruiter. He lost the future US under 14 kid to another team in the league because the other team gave the kid's dad a used pickup. That was Dallas select soccer in the 90's.

Geez. There was a quick transfer not to long ago where I was (jokingly) wondering if the player was going to have to find a way to go bank and fulfill the other schools local ads or how these contracts will handle this. Wasn't sure if buyouts would be allowed in the contracts or not, I guess this will be the way.

Will this be the first buyout to get big publicity?

Would be interesting to find out if UCLA knew this or will find a way to take it out of what they paid for this duo. I can see this family hiding this though.

It has been that way with QB's for a minute.
