I’d like to see this in UFC
Bantam - 135
Feather - 145
Light - 155
Welter - 165
Middle - 185
LHW - 205
Cruiser - 225
Heavy - 225-265
I’ve always wished their was a banger weight class between LHW and Heavy. I think it opens up the sport to new, exciting talents and body types and invites more football built guys to crossover into MMA. Also, a lot of the smaller heavyweights could restart there by cutting to 225 and getting back to 235-240 on fight night. Not all heavyweights are built to rumble with lean 265ers like Francis and Gane.
ETA: I feel like welterweight needs to try and invite the bigger lightweights up and encourage the super tall welterweights up to middle. Hence the 165 for WW.

So you want to add one new weight class and change 170 to 165? Why would you do that? 170 is half-way between 155 and 185. What pressing urge is there to make it 10 pounds from the class below and 20 from the class above as opposed to leaving it like it is, 15 away from the classes on either side?
I also don't see the need for the 225 you are introducing...... 205s step up well as is. DC. Jon Jones will be able to step up...... You are getting diminishing returns on size there. Why introduce a whole new weight class? Prime Fedor would have fought in a different division than prime Lesnar? Just completely unnecessary.
No 240+ pound athlete who cuts to 225 needs protection from bigger guys.

He’s at 170 in camp before he cuts. 200 is his fat, out if shape weight.

Because I want to see guys fighting at their natural weight instead of cutting to weight bully. Encourage Usman and Khamzat to compete at middleweight and that division is no longer the most boring in the UFC.
Encourage guys like Poirier, Chandler, Hooker to move up to 165.
Encourage guys like Kattar, Holloway and Giga to move up to 155.

I just think it opens doors for exciting fights between bigger dudes. If someone's natural size is 230 that's a long way to go to make 205 and you don't have a chance against the freaks at heavyweight. It's just a good catchweight. On fight night, the bigger heavyweights weigh 275-290. Someone who is 240 on fight night is at a 40-50 pound deficit.

Smaller heavyweights have dominated that division for the most part.

Great point, but I think those days are over. My only points are get these guys fighting closer to their "real weights" and it would be cool to see a collection of LHW's move up and Heavyweights moving down.
I'm convinced a Cruiserweight division could carry it's water once it got going.

Are they? Stipe and DC right before ngannou. Do you think ngannou would have beat DC? I dont.
I think jones has a good chance of beating ngannou also. Ngannou is only gonna beat guys with no grappling skills that will stand and trade with him like stipe was stupid enough to do in their last fight.

it’s hard to sit here and read you acting like you know what weights are best for each individual fighter… every person is different and handles weight cuts in a different way
If the fighters aren’t up in arms about it, I don’t think you should be either, with all due respect

He won’t be able to do that his whole career at 155. He’s still young though
Yep, every cut is harder than the one before it.

Anderson Silva was famously cutting from 225 to 185 years ago. I could see bitching about fighters that repeatedly miss weight like Khabib once had problems with, but as far as I know, Paddy has been fine so far.

I definitely don't know what's best, I was just commenting on what I'd like to see.

Most of these athletes cut 30 for weight in and reload 30 before the fight. Paddy doing 50 is insane.
