How many great big game qbs are currently in the nfl?

Dak's won-loss record looks good mainly because of his division the last few years. Giants and Washington have been 4 wins a year for the Cowboys. Nearly every time they play a good team they lose.

Let him walk. And if they don't at least reach NFC Championship then fire McCarthy as well
I'm believer in the 5yr MAXIMUM drought equals blow it up rule. Specifically the Headcoach/QB combination, if not both then at least 1 of them has to go. If after 5yrs they go without either a Conference Championship or Super Bowl Title then you have to move on.
I've never taken the time to look through it all, but I'd be curious to go back through every Superbowl and look at the HC/QB combinations and see how many of them won their first SB together beyond their first 5 years together. And if they did win a SB, did they win or go to another within the next 5 years?
And I'm saying 5 years just thinking about it off the top of my head, but I wouldn't be surprised if going through the list that number would go down to 4.
I say this as a lifelong Saints fan, and going through the Payton/Brees glory years. Started in 06, won in 09 (4yrs). Then fielded one of the best offenses ever & flirted in 11 (2yrs removed) before losing a heartbreaker to 49ers. They broke half of my theory in 2018 (9yrs removed) by making it to the NFC Championship game and actually should have completely broken it but were screwed in NFC Championship loss to Rams with the infamous "no call"
Can anyone think of a HC/QB combo that won their 1st superbowl after their first 5 seasons together, or went to their 2nd superbowl more than 5 years after the 1st?

I get what you are saying but the Cowboys are 73-41 with Dak as the starter. They’ve had one losing season with him and that was in 2020 when he only played 5 games.
Can you point to a single season where you can say they had arguably the best roster in the NFL? What about the NFC? Hell even removing QBs from the equation there really hasn’t been a single season in which they had the best roster in the NFC nor were in the discussion for best roster in the NFL.
I know diehard Cowboy fans always say “this is our year” and then you have that insane portion of the fanbase who believes they should win every year regardless of reality, but let’s face the facts: Their results are meeting or slightly exceeding the capabilities of their roster. With a full season of Dak on the roster their winning percentage equals a 11-6 record each year.
Only two teams have fewer losing seasons than the Cowboys since Dak became the starter: The Chiefs and the Steelers (and the Steelers haven’t won a playoff game since 2016).
While I do believe the Cowboys need to revamp their roster, let’s not pretend that Dak has been some scrub that has wasted elite rosters. He’s not in the same situations that Aikman was in year in and year out.

probably play it out and when season ends in disappointment like it has last few years move on from him and McCarthy
Parsons is more important to get signed and Lamb is probably as important as Dak
Dak is probably better off going on the open market as desperate teams will give him more

I'm enjoying reading this thread while smoking a nice cigar and wearing a black cowboy hat

Oh I see. So it’s like how Tom Brady always had a free ride to a bye and home field advantage yeah?

He’s about where Romo was. Stuck w/fatally flawed teams and mediocre coaching but good enough to make people forget those issues and think they should win more.
